- Sky News host Rita Panahi says there has been “truly unhinged hate and vitriol” directed at Queen Elizabeth II from academics, journalists and politicians.
I'm not a royalist, but I have enough empathy to show a bit of respect for a family that have lost their mum and grandmother.

I want to let you in on a secret. Most people don't care about her or her family. The only people who do are here close friends and family. Give me an example of what she did that was so great, that puts her above other people who do great things and don't get attention for it. There's to much hollow ban-waggon going around. I'm an American and I truly admire and respect Queen Elizabeth. I can't say the same for the Fool we have in the White House.
I am not a fan of the snobbery of Europe where many of the people look down on we Americans as being, essentially, peasants. That applies to many of America's so-called "elite" - the privileged class - also. Im an Aboriginal Australian and even I shed many tears at the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. My own mother was at birth named Eliza Elizabeth. We both admired her grace, fortitude, dignity and unwavering duty to the role. Many of us cannot even come close to what she dedicated herself to for 70 years. Not one of us. Was it pompous or celebrity. From the outside it may be conceived as such but NO. It was duty thrust upon her by birth and circumstance when she became Queen at only 25yrs, a role which she made her own. She dedicated herself to many causes, always above politics, but in the public eye and scrutiny, observed always. The public purse issue, well the institution itself brought in 3 times more in tourism dollars, paying more than itself. On a personal note. I grew up with this monarch, as a figure head of my country and its constitutions that brought democracy to our shores. Be at times not it finest colonial behaviours under its cause, by individuals and malignant persons, yet England invested and wrought the demise of international slavery, sought rules of laws including treaties now manifesting in my country and provided many generations a consistency that in this day and age is so lacking. It will be missed. This dedication to office that many politicians, activist, influences, hollywood actors, etc could never themselves do. I cried when I heard of her passing. I know both my own Mother, Grandmother would have done so if they were alive. RIP Queen Elizabeth II. Respect and deep sorrow of your passing your Majesty.

I had the opportunity to meet her once, while staffing an event she attended. While I'm sure such meet & greets must have been tedious for her, she never treated it or anyone she met as beneath her. No finer monarch ever sat upon the throne.

The queen was just a classy individual who used her position for the good of her subjects and worked tirelessly. Her working day calendar was obscene she worked nearly every day of her life even in her 90s no disappearing for 100 day cruises from ma’am. She was front and centre in any crisis she found the words that gave comfort to millions she was always a reassuring presence. Whoever wants to make something political out of the queens passing or direct abuse at her or her legacy are pond life. And I reason why there is so much mourning because you can see she was still a link to a time of decency, respect and dignity. The world is changing and not for the better. You will be sorely missed rip her majesty.

The Labour government of the day lied to Parliament about the amount of guns it was sending to Nigeria. The Queen had no power to intervene in government decision making, nor was she allowed to make political comment. This is what you are suggesting she should have done. Even though I am generally not a fan of Labour governments, it does appear that they were stressing to Nigeria to not use excessive force.
