I'm in love with angelfish especially altum. Currently i hv 7 in my 2.5ft tank. In future i will buy bigger tank with lots of angelfish.

The pH values in the rivers (Atabapo) vary greatly. In case of rain, the pH value is higher (5.5-6.5), low in long drought (4.2-5.2). When freshly caught animals continuous observation and constant water change is urgently needed! The pH of the transport vessel may change after some time. But mostly down.

We use the fruits of a tree. The name of the tree is "alder" (in German: Erle). These fruits stabilize the water in the acidic range. Hope I could help you. Regards, Andreas

They look like common silver angels to me.
Except common silver angels don't get nearly as large as an altum. You really will have to see one in person to appreciate the difference between a genuine altum and other angel strains and species.
In many species of fish from these areas (wild-caught) for breeding a low pH is required. The eggs would otherwise die. (Osmoregulatoren!) The young fish but you can get used to more neutral water.

Mich würde interessieren ob es überhaupt erlaubt ist Wildtiere aus Südamerika nach Deutschland zu verschleppen?
Mit den passenden Genehmigungen ist es leider immernoch möglich, selbst als "Privatperson / Händler ".
Ich finde es Raubbau an der Natur , diese wunderbaren Tiere in die Krankenhausatmosphaereaquarien zu sperren, viel zu klein degradiert als Produktionsinvestment , einfach nur zum heulen

Andreas I see you reply to comments, what do you use to keep ph and acidity low for the Angels? I cannot get my ph to stop fluctuating.
ok so the young are acclimated to 7.5 pH but what about hardness and pH required for successful breeding raising of spawn?

How to made angels homemade food? Please
1:10...; pH meter starts from 6.7 going down to 6.6, 6.5... but what is the final measured pH level ?? I met a guy in belgium preparing his tanks for a new import of Altums...; He had his water on pH 3,8 !!!...But maybe it was because he just prepared his "turf"-filtration, releasing the most humic acids... What exact pH is measured in the wild ? Increadible that, after all, they are ajusted to a neutral pH after a while...

I don't think you understand very much about this guy, Enrique Gotia. He is helping the wild fish because they are exploited and collected from the wild each year with no sustainability. Therefore, he understands and breeds P.altum so aquarists do not rely too much on wild fish!
