  • The original 2009 version of the RedOne produced, About A Girl, with Keisha Buchanan's vocals. Included on a Sweet 7 album sampler.
    Following Keisha's departure from the band in September 2009, Jade Ewen was shipped in as her replacement, swiftly rerecording the Sweet 7 album in its entirety. The first single featuring Jade was About A Girl, reaching #8 in the UK in November 2009.

    To be honest, they should of sorted their differences/set them aside, released Sweet 7 and took a hiatus. Heidi and Keisha done years of :Write, Record, Promote & Tour. They needed a break away from each other and to chill and then come back after a period of time. I don't like the way it ended up so messy.

    • @cox78
      @cox78 3 месяца назад +4

      And you can tell the effect it's had on Keisha, she's having fun still but much more guarded than she was before. It doesn't help that after they were honored by the MOBOs this yr, Heidi and her family went on social media to mock the honor.

    • @Philipp19967
      @Philipp19967 29 дней назад +1

      @cox78 I don't think they "mocked" it. The whole Mobo award show was messy. They literally cut Heidi from every album cover and video and acted like she never existed. I doubt it was Keisha who planned this. I guess it was their management or MOBO but it came across as very shady.

    • @cox78
      @cox78 28 дней назад

      @@Philipp19967I respectfully disagree w it being shady. I think there's something to be said about keeping the peace. We all know the girls, especially Keisha don't f*ck with Amelle and Heidi. Especially how they did Keisha, with the microaggressions & all that nonsense. In my opinion, Heidi did it to herself and has no one to blame for stabbing Keisha in the back and now having no career to speak of besides Wife Swap UK. Ok that was shady, sorry lol.

    • @Philipp19967
      @Philipp19967 28 дней назад

      @cox78 look, Keisha said 100x there is no bad blood and Heidi wished her all the best. So, no one is bitter.
      What is the point then of literally covering the album covers to hide Heidi or cut the entire videos to not see Heidi. That is shady and was unnecessary childish. It's been nearly 15 years.
      The label or MOBO did it. I'm sure Keisha, Mutya and Siobhan did not.
      And it goes against Keisha telling "its all love and they gave their blessing".
      That's all.

    With this song I really can't decide which version I like better. I like it that they actually re-arranged the vocals instead of Jade just plainly re-recording Keisha's bits. Though now that I think about it, they probably redistributed them because of the very short time they had to produce this song with Jade's vocals. Out of all songs, this was the one I liked most, though I wasn't really a fan of any of the Sweet 7 songs.

      @@Lil_Angry_Bitch right, I always found it crazy how their manegement was always so quick to just replace people...solely based on vocal delivery it was a really dumb decision to kick Keisha off. Amelle has had good moments, not gonna discredit her but she pales in comparison to Keisha. Sometimes I think about what would have happened if they replaced Amelle with Jade, I never loved how the official 3.0´s vocals blended

      @@dollsm4339 Well...It is tough to jugde from all the various rumours out there. I actually read somewhere that Berrabah AND Range were about to leave, so the management thought it was easier to replace only one (Buchanan) instead of two. Also Range said in an interview, that she was about to move on in general and considered to leave the band after "Sweet 7", though I wonder why she recorded "Freedom" then... :)

    • @simon2k4

      I could always tell that Keisha wasn't happy in the 3.0 line up. Just look at some of the interviews from back then. It always seemed like Heidi and Amelle both got on well and Keisha was sort of left out of the conversation at times. I also remember at the release of Denial, Heidi and Amelle were saying how it was the best Sugababes video ever and Keisha just sort of sat back, looked down and then forced a smile and never said a word. I could see that she didn't agree. I think Keisha has always preferred her time in the band with Mutya by her side.
