  • This is my first time playing Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. I've just recently completed Uncharted 1, 2 and 3, and I have to know how the story of Nate's crazy life concludes! I'm playing the PS5 and truly impressed with the gameplay and mechanics and all the advances made between 3 and 4. Stick around and join this last part of the 4 game series with me!

3:18 Chilvary isn't dead, it just didn't even give Nate the option to help Elena up.

Love the little talks between Nate and Elena here. And that the little quite section with the music in the background. So good!
    Great episode, Nat!

43:25 Not sure how they did it. Feels like you are in a dream. Feels like time slows down around you.

13:46 Not fair, game. You're trying to tempt her out of stealth by giving the options of blowing that guy up and doing a Tarzan takedown.

"Or rock climbing for the fun of rock climbing. Not nearly dying."
Yeah, but I think we'd get a lot more people motivated to go rock climbing if there was a promise of $400 million in treasure at the end of it.

43:23 I've never seen anything like this in games like this moment, peace and tension at the same time. A brilliant insertion.

47:21 And this is where the story lost me. Nate's explanation for lying to Elena makes zero sense. He was worried that by going after Avery's treasure and breaking his promise would ruin his marriage. So, what does he do? He breaks the promise anyway and lies to Elena about it. Making it so much worse than if he had just broken the promise. If Nate was so worried about his relationship, he would not have lied to her. If maintaining his wife's trust was so important to him, he wouldn't have lied to her.
You go to your wife; you explain that you have no other choice but to break your promise and you deal with the consequences. You don't break the promise and you certainly don't lie if you don't want to hurt the relationship, so his motivation for lying makes no sense. Between the two explanations Nate gives her for lying, lying to keep her safe is the one that makes the more sense than lying to her to not hurt the relationship.
It makes even less sense after the conversation Nate and Elena had about the Malaysia job. He showed her all the information and even though it was an illegal job because they didn't have the permits, she told him to go for it. Even though pulling an illegal job would be breaking the promise of not doing that type of work. She was willing to let Nate break the promise just because it didn't seem risky. Wouldn't it make sense that she'd be willing to let Nate go after Avery's treasure if meant saving the life of his long-lost brother? But no. We have to make Nate seem like an idiot to try and add a little drama to the story.
Hell, telling Elena and having Elena with us the entire time would've added more drama to the story. Imagine if she comes along and ends up getting hurt or captured, and then we find out that Sam lied to Nate about Alcazar breaking him out of prison. That would've added a lot more impact to that reveal. The entire lying to Elena subplot was unnecessary, didn't add anything to the story in my opinion, and all it did was make Nathan look like an idiot.
Okay rant over. And if you have a different opinion that's fine. I just didn't like this part of the story, and if they hadn't had this part in it, I would hold Uncharted 4 in higher regard. It's still an amazing game.

But again, his reasoning for lying was mainly because his brother appears, the brother he thought was dead for years. Like hat's a lot of exlaining to your wife when you never told her you had a brother, plus the urgency by Sam, it was gonna be messy regardless

@@Hunterese123 Yes, but not as messy as it became by not telling her. By not telling her it showed a lack of respect for her and the relationship. He was worried about "losing her" so he does the very thing that might cause that and makes it worse by lying about it. Just doesn't make sense.
