Kevin Mancero cumbia may have came from Colombia but you don't own it anymore than the U.S.A owning the colors red white and blue. every country has its own interpretation and this is ours. oh and btw we didn't have a choice if we wanted cumbia or not because in the 1940s Colombian singer Luis Carlos Meyer brought it with him when he moved to Mexico ..snd them in the 70s with Aniceto Molina. don't believe me? a simple web search should suffice www.npr.org/sections/altlatino/2013/09/30/227834004/cumbia-the-musical-backbone-of-latin-america
