For me this is the best Father Ted. Great jokes, surreal undertones, visual gags, running gags, immaculate comedic timing, everyone playing to type. 10/10
It's because of this episode, I yesterday was at a local record shop and stumbled over "BBC Sound Effects Nr 9". I did I silent giggle. And just had to buy it. It's not the correct one, I know. But it has set me on a path now, to find the rest in the series. So I can finally have vol 4 and 5 that are mentioned in this episode. Knowing how productions usually work, I assume the sound effects are not actually on those discs. But I can't let reality interfere with a reference joke.
I think that actually plays right into the joke of Dougal playing the wrong track every time. ...take you on a trip into darkest Africa....*toilet flushing sound
I wonder wat it is about the tree at around 18:00, whithnthe stereo hanging in... Knowing the wide picture and landscape, somehow this tree has to apear at nights to vanish in the morning... Did you notice that? Anyway, father ted still is one of the top ten tv series that show the Irish way as it is... Thank you so much!
I need to ask. Was the cover for BBC Sound Effects Volume 4 made up for this show, or is it available to find somewhere secondhand? Asking... for a friend... you see... I find listings of "BBC Sound Effects Nr 4" but no "Volume 4"
Graham Linehan's two "f****n hell!"
Genius

The first half is hysterical, second half wanes a little.

"The Souix indians in the Arizona desert used pinpoint the exact location of Buffalo by putting their ears to the ground..."
The little sheep with the lighter wool around its eyes is adorable
"Fukkin' 'ell."
19:59 "F**kin' hell." lol
He actually says Fuppin' Hell.
@@capablemachine No it will definitely f##kin hell because you can hear him pronounce the ck
As brilliant as the main characters are, the one-offs that pop up all through the show make it a cut above the rest. Thank you Hat Trick for sharing
Has been youtube messing with you cause some episodes of Season 3 are not in the playlist.
I guess the private video was the christmas special?

Whatever effects or filters they used, that last shot of Ted and Dougal walking away looked awesome!
Fookin hell. I love this show
"How...how dare you bring shame on this celebration of sheep!"
was particularly impressed by priscilla's talent. Sheer natural born genius .

Mrs. Doyle says it might be a kind of giant fox, and then Dougal says he can see how Father Jack could be mistaken for a big mad cat.
Intuitive understanding of sheep.
Indeed.

Things that don't exist include Magnum PI, non-catholic gods...

The John and Mary scenes always felt weird to me. Not that they are not funny, it just felt off.
