That sounds amazing I never thought of using a pedal steel guitar amp before!

I love how Milkman is one the few builders still giving love to the steel community. Even though I stink at steel guitar, I still want one of their amps (as I'm always drawn to loud clean amps that offer more power than I'd ever realistically use).

It's a perfect steel guitar amp and more. I have sat at steel shows and listened to every popular steel amp. The milkman definitely has a great tone. The Bad Dog P2P is also top shelf. Recently a young man with a Fender Twin and Emmons 65 push pull had the best tone I've ever heard. That Twin looked new and wasn't the ToneMaster Twin of recent. Tube Twin and Emmons, deadly combination.

This amp reminds of the Huge Fender Dual Showman reverb amplifiers that fender was building in the late 60s and early 70s. They were 200 watt amps, they were played by Peter Green in the late 60s and Eric Clapton too. If you want to hear how one sounded like listen to Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac live at the Boston Tea Party. Great live album btw.

there is absolutely something to be said for what a big ass transformer does to your sound!

Any Amp that comes with reverb should have three knobs! All these years I've been relying on my Fenders and only recently got into reverb pedals. What a difference. Also like that there is no dirt channel or master volume on this amp. I've found myself using the "clean" channel on my Dual Showman like this and let the pedals do the dirty work more and more. Cool demo. Cool amp.

dude is clean till your ears bleed. i love it for that. and yeah, i have said that i hate reverb in the past and i think what i hate is my inability to sculpt it to my needs.

So you say that it’s like a twin reverb but BETTER. That sounds amazing, in what ways is it better?? Is the midrange different? I kind of see it like buying a vintage Dual Showman/Twin Reverb because it’s hand wired expect you don’t run the “vintage risk” of it failing on you. Its all new.

How much of the sound is the amp as opposed to the mics and audio interface ?

I’dk what happened but I’m really loving these “boutique” style clean amps and using gain pedals over high gain amps. Im just not super excited about the price differences. Haha. Ide love a benson but I may end up just settling for a fender bassman head, benson cab and the benson preamp and boost.

The Milk Amp sounds fantastic, what superb; clean, semi-clean and driven tones it has. Some great overtones and harmonics from your playing and that amp. I can also hear some "Trainwreck Amp" tones coming from the Milkman amp and cab. One of the best and versatile amps I have heard. Loving your stuff here in England UK.
