    Thank you for the handy fix and tips! Now time for me to DIY and replace rear wheel hub assembly and bearings on driver and passenger side. A 2015 Honda CR-V SE FWD. Complete with a tire rotation and all new brakes and rotors. Gotta love the DIY.

    Thanks for posting this. I'm in a remote location in Alaska where getting another heater might take weeks. I was able to fix mine in 5 minutes after watching your video. 👍

    Thank you so much for your video. It solved my heater problem. I opened her up and did exactly as you said. The little red button was the magic! If you want her to get hot, ya gotta flick the little red button!

    Thank you for taking the time to help others with your initiative and knowledge sharing. The internal Thermal reset button fixed the problem Now I'm going to take it apart further clean it and put it back together obviously The thermal reset switch popped due to dust debris and cat hair in my case that made it overheat. Otherwise without your video this heater would have ended up in the landfill sooner than later
    thank you!

    Note: to remove the heater from the wooden case you have to remove one long screw in each of the four casters (wheel assembly) on the bottom, took me forever to figure that out 🤦

    *Model ZCHT1001US only: Infrared space heater reset (If unit was overheated)*
    *1. Front of heater facing away from you, you'll remove 5 silver screws from the back (3 on left side & 2 on inner top)*
    *2. Then you'll have to slide off the top cover by pulling it inward towards you. (Back of heater facing you)*
    *3. Once that's off, you'll unscrew 2 black screws on the left (now visible once top cover was removed)*
    *4. Flip unit on side with the left side facing ceiling, this time you will slide the side cover off by pushing it away from you. (rear of heater still facing you)*
    *5. There should be two wires with rubber casings at the head (more than likely braided red & dusty pink) & a dial like thing sticking out in between it.*
    *6. Poke it, it doesn't click or make any noise. (Feel free to press it several times if you are unsure)*
    *7. Reassemble the heater. (Fit on the left side casing) then prop it upright, 2 black screws from under the top, fit on top cover, 2 silver screws at the backs inner side, and then 3 of the left screws. Once you've finished these steps, stand up, do some stretches & last but not least plug in the unit & see if it's FIXED.*

    Hi, I have a Sun Twin. The heater elements still come on because I see the orange lighted area behind the grill but the unit does not blow air. Do you think the fan may have a fuse or reset switch.? I've yet to take anything apart. Thanks!

  • @rathergather2406
    @rathergather2406 3 года назад

    You don't have to jump out the thermostats,you can set your meter on continuity and test them with the heater is unplugged.The thermostats or thermal fuses are either open or closed,closed means it will carry voltage same as jumping it out.The only exception with these thermal disc's is one of them will be a temperature cycling thermostats but most of the time they should test closed when the unit is cool.

  • @ronbonick4265
    @ronbonick4265 5 лет назад

    I have one and when it reaches the temp in the room and shuts the heat off ( cycles down ) before totally shutting off- it wont shut off it just runs the fan and after a while blows cold air - recirculating the warm air . so somewhere a switch isnt cutting off.

    • @dmann1115
      @dmann1115 Год назад

      No, the fan is still going to cool the unit; for instance, your manual probably says not to shut the whole unit down, but rather turn down the thermostat first, to shut down the heating element, and let the fan continue, then use the on-off switch to turn it off. It's bad for the unit to shut it all off when it has been running a while.

    Hearing my friend hit his heater every day from him running it at 86 degrees non stop is like listening to Bam Bam from the Flintstones. His problem stems from tearing things up sadly.
