What I find truly interesting is how we're putting women under conservatorships with Britney and Amanda Bynes being the most famous examples (and Lindsay Lohan got really lucky her father wasn't as rotten as Britney's, otherwise she'd have joined the girls too). Where was the conservatorship for Justin Bieber, Kanye West, or Shia LaBeouf? How come female celebrities are targeted, but the male ones are given a pass? How come a woman has to undergo extensive evaluation (most likely by male doctors) to prove she has the mental faculty to control her life, but men don't? Literally W-T-F
I read they wanted to put Justin Bieber and Kanye West under c ship. Both have connections to Lou Taylor, Justin Bieber goes to the same church as her and Kim Kardashion is connected to her in business stuff
@mira I don't think her father was doing it out of the goodness of his heart, or out of concern for Lindsay. I think he didn't want his ex to get her hands on Lindsay's money, they were both (Michael and Dina) having legal issues. And the mom was just indicted on drunk driving charges again.
My sister works in disability services in Australia where they emphasise that everyone is deserving of the "dignity of risk," which I think is a lovely way of putting it.
Believe me there are plenty of people in Austraila who are harmed and how have rights removed based on their so called "mental illness"or psychiatric conditions..I talk to them all the time.It might not be that there is conservatorships that work in this way but I assure you there is as much psychiatric abuse and restrictions of people's human rights based on their mental health diagnosis"
Britney would probably not be under that conservatorship if she was a man. When a man shaves his head or hits a paparazzi, no one says a thing. But when a woman does it, she is labeled crazy and she lost her mind. Women are not allowed anger and agressivity. So I truly believe that Britney has been stigmatized and punished for having a behavior that is not socially acceptable for a woman.
Hasn't Hugh Grant done almost the same thing? He got caught with a hooker in his car and then threw baked beans at a photographer and the only thing that happened was he got arrested and Jay Leno made fun of him for a few weeks each time.
@@ArtGirl82 well what made Grant more fodder for tabloids than others who cheated on their spouses was that the sex worker was a transgender woman and the media was very ignorant and bigoted about it
She has definitely endured an onslaught of forced Big Pharma cocktails...when I heard her court statements this was glaringly obvious. Bless up Britney for using every ounce of your coherency to deliver your statements...I’m sure your “guardians” and “father” had an extra special cocktail for you the night before!! We hear YOU, we see YOU and we will free YOU 🙏🏾😘🌈
In my opinion, the fact that she has NOT hurt herself or even ended her life while being controlled by this for SO LONG proves that her capacity is there and she is strong. Because I don't know that I would have been able to survive that.
I agree. That alone demonstrates that she is very competent to run her life. I really think the only reason she hasn’t is because of her sons. All these fools cared about was her MONEY 💰 💵 💴.
I have been saying this too ! I don’t know how she hadn’t taken her own life . God bless her . I know she will come out of this fine even though it has been unbearably painful for her . Britney is a warrior
I think that's what they want too have her end up like Marilyn or Elvis youre getting older now take some pills and drop dead? Too bad for them thieving abusive liars they are she'll keep rehearsing rebuilding her confidence and expose them all.
The fact that she was given the diagnosis of dementia is so outrageous, as she obviously does not have dementia. The whole arrangement should be nullified on that alone.
Absolutely ! The schemers dropped that one in to fit the conservativeship laws since they were made to give guardianship to nearest relatives in case of elderly relatives that need assistance or brain damaged or severe retardation or learning capacity.. even if Britney did smoke a little pot or do a couple of lines or even get with the wrong guy.. doesn't make her incapacitated.. Heck there's not enough hospitals to contain all us that have done that.. They seem to use the papz to attack or punish her they're quite powerful.. FREE BRITNEY NOW !!
Although incredibly rare young people can get dementia but as far as I know the younger you get it the faster you deteriorate if she got dementia in her twenties she would either be dead or pretty close to it by now, she certainly wouldn't be capable of calling in to the court room and making the statement she did
If Britney earned $50k a year, no way her dad or any of those awful people would have put her in a conservatorship in 2008. They’re only in it for her money.
She's their cash cow and this is legalized trafficking. They have total control of her person, her body, her mind while they made money off her, working her until she's broken. They are all vile pimps.
Agree and really hope they continue the investigation to examine the judges and lawyers involved. Seems really shady how quick it unfolded and bypassed her legal rights. Not to mention the record of them "joking" about not telling her stuff.
And there still isn't a clear answer on whether or not she's in a voluntary or a "capacity" conservatorship. If she is in a capacity one, her working for 70+ hours a week makes it completely incomprehensible. You can't work if you're incapacitated. If it's a voluntary conservatorship, than her father, the doctors, and the courts have been lying to her. Either way it's sick.
Yes how socially accepted it is really does reflect poorly on the culture and justice system. He's just robbing and abusing her and the courts are helping him.
Damn! Lovett almost made me cry when he said it is clear that Britney is someone who didn't have a champion in her life. Damn. Damn. Those words moved through me like a dagger. Heartbreaking. So many systemic and marginalizing mechanisms out there, slowing choking the vulnerable to death. How is a woman treated like this in 2021? Life is so cruel.
backto1960 that sentence struck me as well. She's been taken advantage of all her life because of her genuine sweetness and kindness. If she's able to see this public reaction to her words in court that day hopefully it will spur her on to continue to state her opinions in future. I don't trust the current boyfriend though. Very weak character. I don't think he's her champion either.
@@debbiedion5731 If you think this is an isolated incident then you better get to researching. There are many "Jamies" out there, exploiting the most vulnerable people in society and with the law on their side.
Exactly! Back when the papparazzi was hounding her, Britney needed aggressive body guards and security guards (who couldn't be bought off) to keep them at bay, and a better divorce lawyer to get custody of her kids -- primary physical custody at the very least while she was nursing -- and maybe someone to pay K Fed off to just go away.
Britney is a family business 😭 If her case would be filed in criminal court independent auditors and accountants would have access to all records from the bank and lawyers involved
Jia Tolentino is brilliant. She delivers a whole system answer to each question. As a fan of Crooked media and Lovett or Leave it I would love to see her as an ongoing panel expert. Thank you Ronan in each turn referencing Jia's insights. This is rare, much needed experience for the audience to reinforce women's expertise.
What makes me the most upset is refusing her reproductive rights. Women have only a few short decades of reproduction. Men can make babies all throughout their life. Yes, she has money for doctors to help, but that's beside the point. They forced her during her "prime" years to work instead of what maybe she wanted. It's gross.
What bothers me the most about Brittney's situation is that, while it can only get better for her, the damage done can't be undone. She was allowed to be victimized by the closest people to her for years. How does someone come back from that?
Yeah. At some point during her testimony, she said she didn't believe in therapy, and all I could think was,who could blame her at this point when she was treated like this? No wonder she doesn't want to perform any more, when it just leads to more control of her life?
@@debbiedoodiedandi How would she believe in ANYTHING at all after all the beings in the universe that could have helped her did not? How would anyone? When I was a Christian I was told that believing in Jesus isn't about his existence, but one's trust in Him. Like you'd believe in a friend's ability or morality. "I believe in you" kinda deal. If I were her I wouldn't believe in God, family, friends, government, the legal system, therapy, psychiatry, medicine, or society. I hope she either has now or develops at least one real relationship. "We all need somebody to lean on."
It happens to more than you know it’s called narcissism and it is devastating. Lisa A Romano and many others offer great insight to the characteristics of these predators well worth the study.
If Britney's mental health is worse now than before, it's because she's living in a prison. That level of control is maddening. But I think it's her emotional health that is suffering. Her mental health seems strong and clear for someone having been controlled to such an extreme and for so long. After spending a year living with my family as an adult having moved back home, I thought I might lose it. Narcissist, controlling, gaslighting family will do a good job of eroding your sanity and have you feeling imprisoned and alone. I got out, but it's literally taking years to heal from these experiences and find my full confidence again.
“Enslaved by her father” says it all. So she shaved her head. Big deal! Let her have her life! She needs freedom to make decisions and to make mistakes, that’s how people learn.
I heard she shaved her head because Kevin Federline was threatening to have her hair tested for drug use. She was sober at the time but didn’t want her past drug abuse used against her. She was fighting for custody of her very small children at that time.
Britney suffers from emotional illness. This is clear, although she appears to be coping with it better now. But her 'manager' at the time of the hair shaving was definitely taking advantage of her, and Federline was seeking to take custody of her children. Her father actually bailed her out from that. But you know what they say - absolute power corrupts absolutely. I think he and the rest of his family have gotten used to being in control, and don't want to give it up.

It teaches people how to think and act like zombies. She imagines she is not supposed to speak about the past or think about the past in an interview.
What Britney may have now is arrested development caused by the fact that she was never allowed to live as an adult. She’s going to second guess herself for many years to come. She needs advisors, not controllers.
Maybe... But she is very strong & I believe with the right people in her life she will be okay. And there are good people from all over the world who support her & want to help her now that the truth is out. Jia makes an excellent point about how it doesn’t matter if Britney’s lying; that level of sophisticated planning would also prove she doesn’t need this
Jia is entirely wrong. In fact that was the statement made that most clearly underscores a total lack of understanding regarding mental illness and how it functions.
@@kristinadutton3259 and ignorant statements like that are why we as a society must reform these institutions that make it easy to abuse people either who have mental illness or are falsely accused of having a mental illness
I know Jamie Spears is the “figure head” of this who catastrophe, but the system that put her in this position and perpetuated it until this day needs to be held to account. Jamie Spears did this to her with the full force of the law on his side and it’s vile.
Is he though? One interesting thing that should be looked into is how her conservatorship got approved so quickly? Was it voluntary on her part? If so, why are there court documents on her "capacity" and Jamie claiming to the court "dementia". Either way, Jamie didn't do things by the law, denied her basic rights and information, and should be prosecuted for such. As for the courts, yeah, they are messed up and that should be investigated as well.
@@jenerin905 Whatever Jamie Spears has done, he has had the entire legal system to continue this control and abuse for 13 years. There was a system in place that he took advantage of and then the courts, the medical establishment, the legal establishment, the entire entertainment industry continued to empower him to perpetuate this abuse. The judges, lawyers, and doctors who perpetuated this for over a decade need to be sued and possibly incarcerated.
@@samiam2088 Absolutely! But let's be honest, I doubt all of those people that have been responsible will pay. It's horrible. This shouldn't be allowed. And if it's happened to Britney Spears, that means it could easily happen to anyone else who doesn't have as much influence.
I have seen folk with Alzheimers have more rights than Britney. The Spears need to stop utilizing her coat tails and let her live again.Any woman with mental health issues feels compassion for this issue .
Kanye West, Martin Lawrence, Robert Downy Jr., Martin Sheen, Michael Jackson, Mel Gibson, Russell Crowe are some of the men in entertainment that has acted out for all to see and to my knowledge, none of these men were ever placed in a conservatorship against their will. This Judge, her court appointed attorney doesn’t seem to me to be working in her best interests. We already know her father and her family isn’t. I’m also like what the fuck is going on! I feel so sad for Britney Spears! All of these years silenced. I really hope this Judge is removed from her case, not likely I know but the way it’s going, Britney isn’t going to have any money left due to the Judge allowing how much is being paid out to keep her locked in this conservatorship. When does common sense check in? Frustrating! Ugh!
Not Martin Sheen. It’s his son Charlie who has all the drug problems etc. But other than that, I agree with you. And what about Tom Cruise’s crazy connection to Scientology?
Boy I had no idea this case was so disturbing. I am so glad this story is splashed all over the news because it's pretty clear the public needed to know how conservatorships work.
I find it interesting that her strange choices and her acting out constitute a need for supervision when other performers who've arguably made even stranger decisions continue to do all manner of questionable things. It seems clear that this is gendered, that this is opportunistic and that things must change for her.
Britney would probably not be under that conservatorship if she was a man. When a man shaves his head or hits a paparazzi, no one says a thing. So I truly believe that Britney has been stigmatized and punished for having a behavior that is not socially acceptable for a woman.
Right?! I didn’t see Michael Jackson’s rights being taken away, even after he dangled his baby out a window. I almost said even after he was credibly accused of molesting children, but that’s a whole other outrage.
Abused women are most often Kind, Hardworking (don't want to quit/give up on working on the relationship), trusting, honest, etc. It gets used against us when we don't leave a toxic situation immediately. Then, we are punished for actually leaving.
Wow, I am so thrilled that Ronan has taken this issue on, he is so wise and relentless in his search for justice. I don't know Jia but wow she really impressed me during this interview. Thank you for standing up for Britney, she is a slave to these monsters.
The Brittany conservatorship just appears to be legal slavery to me, no one but her should be able to make money from her including the state. If the state is enforcing conservatorship then it should be paying it and all of the conservators should be subject to extreme audits. It's like Brittany as a human has to fight Brittany the corporation. Edited to add -- I really enjoyed JIa's insight and commentary on this.
This conservatorship has cost Britney hundreds of millions of dollars. Someone at her level working all the years she has should be worth hundreds of millions not only 60 million. So either they stole her money or worked such bad deals for her they lost her money that way. Not to mention all that’s been spent keeping her enslaved in the conservatorship and watched 24/7 so she can’t physically escape.
In a court filing obtained by CNN Wednesday and dated July 1, Lynne Spears states via her attorneys that her daughter is in a much different place than when her conservatorship began in 2008. "Now, and for the past many years, Conservatee is able to care for her person and in fact has, within the parameters of this conservatorship, earned literally hundreds of millions of dollars as an international celebrity," the petition states.
Britney only has about 60 million because of her dad’s frivolous spending. Her mom filed a motion to contest the almost million dollars the dad spent for just four months of PR work (after the framing Britney Spears documentary) to spin his “I’m just a loving father trying to save my daughter” narrative. It’s truly disgusting.
I saw a line graph reflecting how Britney’s estate value has changed since 2008 and where it should be if properly invested/diversified. Her estate should be worth much more now.
Me to me on the mirror the entire time: _This is a serious topic. You will not make a single remark about how cute Jon and Ronan are. You can do this. You'll be dead serious the entire time. not a single 'aww cute'. I raised you better than this._

According to witnesses, her father would not let her drink a Coke at the Grammys for fear she would get fat. When Iggy Azalea saw that, he threatens her and forced her to sign an NDA saying if she didn’t, he would stop her from playing at the Grammys. He does not have any such power over people at the Grammys, but his ego got so big with power, he convinced her he did
Watch this interview of Britney’s brother Brian who believes this conservatorship is a “family business” and “good for the family”. He acknowledges that Britney wants out and always has, yet he repeatedly justifies the conservatorship. He says he and the whole family are in the same side about it. He says he resents the fact that Britney has a “strong will and opinion” about her freedom. He can recall IN DETAIL how much profit was made from various records and perfumes but he plays dumb when the host asks him about the #freebritney movement. He said “he doesn’t know what captivity people are talking about”. The whole family is corrupt. Brian’s interview shows EXACTLY why Britney said nobody in her whole family helps her: ruclips.net/video/kS9Gyo7JdO8/видео.html
Jon, don't be sorry for your "outburst" - it's a healthy and adequate reaction to gross injustice and corruption by a thinking and feeling human being. 💜 This is not something that can or should only be talked about in a detached, unemotional way bc it's not a purely intellectual problem or puzzle. We need it reflected in public that this is gross, evil, mysogynistic, all the things. Ofc we also need the measured, researched thought out response. We need both.
Never forget that she is only worth 60 million after a Lifetime of working doing sold out tours and 4 years in Vegas. They have lived off of her and drained away millions. Other performers who have done the same body of work are worth hundreds of millions. She has been able to work all of these years so should be in control of her life and finances.
The Courts own notes say the conservatorship was voluntary- how was she able to put herself in a conservatorship, but not able to hire her own attorney?
Thi is because once you're placed under a conservatorship, you're not deemed competent enought tho choose your own legal counsel. Obviously not defending it, just to explain how the system of guardianship/conservatorship works.
In 2008, South Park aired an episode about Britney Spears and how she’s treated by society, the press and her fans. It was extremely insightful as to how she’s being “sacrificed” for our entertainment. Of course, the writers were trying to be funny, but as they often do, South Park was making a deeper statement.

I see this all the time in nursing for 37 years. In the name of people's decisions not being in their best interests, caring professionals over do it. It is a constant battle to advocate for a person who is able to understand the consequences to be able to choose a " bad course of action"
How can she possibly have dementia and yet learn and remember all these different dance sets and perform them in front of live audiences again and again? It’s not even logical.
A couple of points, first, there was supposed to be a evaluation of Spear's medical treatment in 2019 and this was postponed because her psychiatrist died. Has this evaluation ever taken place. Second, if her father has a restraining order against him and had a number of violence orders taken by his former wife how is he a fit person to be a conservator? Can that not be challenged?
It sure appears to be corrupt, Even when guardianship/ conservatories can always be changed. It happens when people in accidents and get better after brain heals, for instance.

Simple question: if she were a lousy singer, getting third rate gigs, and making little money, would the father be interested in her? Of course not. And the judge doesn't see it? Fishy, to say the least.

When you have been a victim of the system you already aren’t shocked by this injustice. As someone who has a malignant narcissist ex who used the system to financial wipe me out as a threat he delivered on, for challenging him to pay child support and split the cost of our home sale. I learned through my court experiences that the judge is the difference of justice or not, no matter how good your lawyer is. We had 4 total. I was shocked at how the system cared so little on how this would affect my children and it did, 2 of the judges helped and 2 didn’t, despite documented facts/receipts to prove I was telling the truth and looking out for the best interest for my kids and raising them alone. One of the judges had made comments stereotyping me and showed his sexism and support of my ex because he was just one of the good ol boys stereotypes. My children and I had to get help, court ordered from the stress this was causing on us as it was dragged out by my ex as he delivered on his promise of running me broke if I divorced him, despite the fact he ran up debts for his hobby interest and cheating on me. It is a whole archaic system and needs to be overhauled. I was in shock when I realized this could happen and did.

I appreciate how Jia articulated so well the origin of how long Britney has been trying to 'meet' expectations placed on her since she was a child. Hoping Britney finds a great health team that she can trust to help guide her toward what she wants in life, and that she can find a good med plan and health plan she can lean into and trust that has nothing to do with anyone else's expectations of her as a performer.
I remember when she was first placed on this conservatorship, it was only suppose to be like 2-3 years when it was first implemented. I was shocked when I read she was still on it. Vultures around Britney....
Jia really encapsulated the Critical Misogyny and Kudos to Lovett for highlighting the point and showing the anguish you feel for Britney's situation in your face. Calling it slavery is 100% correct.
Jia - such a great point about how the family and legal circumstances surrounding Britney are very much a mirror of the cultural imprisonment of expectations she was held to. I find it interesting that Britney's story is coming out not long after the movie "Judy". There are a lot of overlapping themes and abuses in Judy Garland's life story as well. I imagine Judy in the afterlife is behind Britney, cheering for her, pushing her to stand up.
For all the concern for her health, there has never been mention of her taking time off for the sake of her health. No matter how poor her mental health, they keep pushing her to work so she can make that money. Too many people are benefitting from her money and all they want to do is make sure it keeps coming. If she were poor no attention to this level would be paid to her. This is a money and a greed issue. Everyone from the judge to the attorneys to her family have exploited her very soul to keep their pockets full.
I think that there needs to be an investigation into the relationship between the judge and attorney. Did she appoint him? Was there any violation of ethics as suggested if they knowingly kept Britney in the dark about her rights? If so the attorney should be disbarred and judge asked to resign. I'm any event she should be replaced.
If she does well they will say " See, she is doing well because of the conservatorship, she needs it" If she doesn't do well they will say " See, she is crazy, she needs it" Its a lose-lose situation. Its fucked up.
Such an eye opening article and conversation. As someone who works in disability, I appreciate that particular perspective and pointing out that having a disability, mental or otherwise, shouldn’t rob someone of their autonomy, freedom and dignity. Always love hearing from Ronan and seeing him on the pod. But Jia is also so intelligent and the way that she explains all of this makes it so digestible. Wonderful job all. May God deliver and bless Brittney and all who are in horrific situations like this.
Thank you for not avoiding the gender disparity in these "conservatorship" slave contracts. The patriarchal bias is glaringly obvious. We're people, not products.
I think it is. I dont see how anyone could get over 500 000 a year to be a court appointed attorney. Someone who works and functions in life doesn't seem could possibly lack capacity. As they say, follow the money.
@maggie she was blackmailed into signing a “voluntary “ conservatorship because they promised if she did she will be able to see her children who were babies at the time.
Its a no brainer... She's cognitively able to perform in a high stress job, be a judge on X factor, coeograph dances... she's not in any way in capable she's high functioning.
The essence of sexual/childhood abuse is objectification. As a survivor, this story is horrifying because it is systematic and legalized objectification. To wit: the money she could make was deemed more important than her own subjective experiences. Some of the deepest damage from abuse comes when we are taught to objectify and devalue our selves.
All three of you have good points! This is a great discussion. I've been so worried about Britney's safety since she spoke out! I feel she's a little safer with her new attorney. And I'm so glad to know that Ronan has been investigating this & that he's in her corner! I want to believe she is safer because of this too! 💯 I'm so glad that the majority of people want her to be free! I'm so glad they are not still following the narrative that she is crazy & can't make any decisions for herself! It's more than obvious to me that she is mentally stronger than most people! Most people would not have survived what she has been through! ♥️

@@ArtGirl82 well what made Grant more fodder for tabloids than others who cheated on their spouses was that the sex worker was a transgender woman and the media was very ignorant and bigoted about it
I think Johnny Depp kinda proves that. Rightly or wrongly, his fault or not, he has been *through it* the last few years, and nothing.
CHARLIE SHEEN doesn’t have a conservatorship. Sexist much?

In my opinion, the fact that she has NOT hurt herself or even ended her life while being controlled by this for SO LONG proves that her capacity is there and she is strong. Because I don't know that I would have been able to survive that.

The schemers dropped that one in to fit the conservativeship laws since they were made to give guardianship to nearest relatives in case of elderly relatives that need assistance or brain damaged or severe retardation or learning capacity..

Not an expert, but this sounds like gaslighting psychological and legal abuse. Terrifying for her and and an entire culture.
The California judicial council is corrupt. Google it.

No jamie spears is cruel,deranged,
backto1960 that sentence struck me as well. She's been taken advantage of all her life because of her genuine sweetness and kindness. What makes me the most upset is refusing her reproductive rights. Women have only a few short decades of reproduction. Men can make babies all throughout their life.
I think she shaved her head so DADDY couldn’t make money off of her
I heard she shaved her head because Kevin Federline was threatening to have her hair tested for drug use.

Boy I had no idea this case was so disturbing. I am so glad this story is splashed all over the news because it's pretty clear the public needed to know how conservatorships work.
Seems clear to me the conservators are NOT acting in Britney's interests but in their own financial interest.
Yup
Britney's dad paid himself more than she was allowed each month. It's clearly about money. I don't understand how this case isn't open and shut.
I find it interesting that her strange choices and her acting out constitute a need for supervision when other performers who've arguably made even stranger decisions continue to do all manner of questionable things. It seems clear that this is gendered, that this is opportunistic and that things must change for her.
Exactly. Why doesn't Kanye or Charlie Sheen or Trump have a conservator?

The Brittany conservatorship just appears to be legal slavery to me, no one but her should be able to make money from her including the state. If the state is enforcing conservatorship then it should be paying it and all of the conservators should be subject to extreme audits. It's like Brittany as a human has to fight Brittany the corporation. Edited to add -- I really enjoyed JIa's insight and commentary on this.
Britney*
@Liam Oasis she’s definitely worth 100 million dollars thanks to her perfume line alone
They’ve stolen her money and got money out of her Trust she had left for her children
I saw a line graph reflecting how Britney’s estate value has changed since 2008 and where it should be if properly invested/diversified. Her estate should be worth much more now.

When you have been a victim of the system you already aren’t shocked by this injustice. People who have never been “too successful”/“too pretty” etc will never understand that what is in someone’s best interests might be to be less of these things. It’s their personality issues, not us.
Jia’s voice is so soothing to hear. Their article was incredible, and to hear an in-depth conversation of the case between people who knows what they are talking about is just brilliant. Thank you for this video!
Ronan joining from another room in the same apartment 🤣
Is that his boyfriend?
@@dagothkid6372 They’re engaged!
I don't find anywhere anything about them being engaged. Any sources?
@@lilg2300 Uh.... Jon literally said so multiple times throughout the podcast so perhaps give it a listen!
Jon Lovett makes references on other podcasts of his 🙂
When she said she only wanted to take a ride in her boyfriends car is when it hit me. So sad #FreeBritney
The California Bar Association should get involved. There are red flags everywhere.
Sadly they probably won’t. Too many important people are benefiting financially. California residents should take note, if this can happen to her it can happen to you!
@@ashleyboyer I understand what you're saying, but Ronan brought Weinstein down & a lot of others were brought down too after that. Hopefully everyone involved in an evil, negative way toward anyone going through this can be brought down!.I hope!.
She hasn’t worked in a few years
Most comprehensive interview yet on Britney and conservatorship. Learned a lot! Thank you
Ronan is a force to be reckoned with. Let's hope his platform helps Ms. Spears be freed.
(Not for nothing - His face is Sinatra stunning:)
But his hands are all woodys
@@sommeresposito6208 Ronan is Woody Allans biological son. Fortunately, he looks like his mother.
This article and the New Yorker podcast were *PHENOMENAL*
Do you have a link
I think that there needs to be an investigation into the relationship between the judge and attorney. Did she appoint him? Was there any violation of ethics as suggested if they knowingly kept Britney in the dark about her rights? If so the attorney should be disbarred and judge asked to resign. I'm any event she should be replaced.
If she does well they will say " See, she is doing well because of the conservatorship, she needs it"
If she doesn't do well they will say " See, she is crazy, she needs it"
Its a lose-lose situation. Its fucked up.
Absolutely! And that's exactly what they have perpetuated!
How is this not false imprisonment?
I think it is. I dont see how anyone could get over 500 000 a year to be a court appointed attorney. Someone who works and functions in life doesn't seem could possibly lack capacity. As they say, follow the money.
Her conservatorship is voluntary
@maggie she was blackmailed into signing a “voluntary “ conservatorship because they promised if she did she will be able to see her children who were babies at the time.
Ronan should have a segment on Lovett or leave it. It would be a hit!!! ✨🌟
I'll just plug the podcast Eat Pray Britney who are following this case closely. They loved this article.
Thank you for this information about her case. Such a talented young lady who clearly has vultures looking out for themselves and not her.
It amuses me that ronan is in the hall
Cause Lindsay Graham was already in the closet 😳
@@69shakti that’s funny cause it’s true
Why does this feel like a modern day Rapunzel? Tower / Stage...Mother Gothel / Father Spears... Hair / Talent.
Forget how Farrow looks, listen to what he’s saying! Oh my Gawd!
I love Ronan’s rainbow crown :-) you guys have a great decor
It’s by Jonathan Adler :) one of the more fun pieces :)
Its a no brainer... She's cognitively able to perform in a high stress job, be a judge on X factor, coeograph dances... she's not in any way in capable she's high functioning.
Jia and Ronan thank you for bringing all this to light!
Thank you for the in-depth discussion!
Ronan is the best! God bless you! I love how you support women in hollywood.
Yup I’m back. As this exchange blossoms, I’m amazed at how FAIR, CORRECT AND ACCURATE Britney’s “journey” is depicted/dissected/explained and laid out for us to understand and to care for her. Compassion is necessary. Free Britney indeed and I’m a happily married, nearly 60 year young mom to a brilliant 18 yr-young child and I GET IT. You 3 are BRILL. 🙏
Great video. Worth the watch. Ty.
Glad you think so! Thanks for watching :)
It is such a shock that this can happen to a woman in this day and age, like modern slavery, I hope she is allowed to get an advocate who has her best interests at hear to gain back some independence and self-determination! thanks for covering this topic and for this great discussion!
When Sinead O’Conner shaved her head, it made her an icon with her voice. Britney, they made fun of her.
It was an excuse to on her and her money.
How dare she not be sexy for you, And risk daddy’s big bucks?
The people who put this podcast on RUclips do a great job. I already listened to it once and it's a different experience to watch it. Great job guys!
Thanks so much! That means a lot to the team :)
