Hey penn rail videos do you see that falling apart building at 5:39 that building was called The mine stores building they demolished it in 2011 it was built in 1900 on the Delaware Lackawanna and western railroad scranton yard it was used for mining equipment storage and if you go there today you’ll find the foundation of it it’s an old stacked stone foundation
It is strangely fitting that 2317's last trains should be short two car runs. That is probably the exact way in which she ended her service for CP, hauling commuter trains.
why does CN 3254's whistle screech when its not used for a long time I went on that excursion that railfest weekend and the screeching of her whistle drived me crazy
too bad the engineer who actually blew the whistle on 2317 didnt run both days. The whistle sounds weak sunday. Should have blow it loud and proud on the last day. Fantastic video!
I'm gonna miss 2317. How big of a team do you have. Seems like you either drive over the speed limit to get to these different spots or you have people stationed along the route.
The most awesome wistle was 8:12!!! That was fantastic!!! :) I have a question: where this railway situated? Thank you! Самый удивительный свист был на 8:12!!! Это было потрясающе!!! :) У меня вопрос: где эта железная дорога находится? Спасибо!
Imagine 3254 & 2317 will doublehead in Railfest 2010 at steamtown
@morepassionfoo Delaware-Lackawanna operates over the track. It was the former DL&W mainline.

I have never seen 903 and 904 running
@trainmanben1 About 5-10 years.
@GenesisSanctuary It did not have a different whistle. The one engineer just blew the whistle harder.

I know this comment is really old but i want to answer your question, its because of the built up steam that goes through the whistle.
Well edited video shot with a tripod. Thanks very much for sharing -- that is a lot of work to produce.
That steamer is a beauty

Why TWO engines at 7:00 ? No need. Wasting fuel and generating air pollution and wear and tear for nothing. Leave trailing engine turned off.
