  • Hello guys my name is Ben and this is bad bikes and today we are going to be replacing my brother's rear derailleur. The reason i'm replacing it is because when trying to tune his derailleur he accidentally stripped one of the bolts on it. Luckily it wasn't a very expensive part on his bike. Still it could have all been prevented if he had just let his older brother look at it. But looking on the bright side i get to make a video for you guys on how to replace a derailleur.
The way I replace a derailleur is by first removing the chain. Next I remove the cable that is attached to the derailleur. Then I removed the old derailleur. If you bent your derailleur hanger, the little silver thing that holds your derailleur in place, now would be a good time to replace it. After you have replaced you derailleur hanger, or not replaced, it it's time to put on your new shiny one. Put the cable back in the way it came, slap on the chain and bamb! you have replaced your derailleur. Cors, you do need to tune everything but I will save that for another video.
So that is how you replace your derailleur. God bless!
