I found you through your Craftsy class on Start Up Watercolors, but happened upon your dandelion lessons. They are the deep part of what I am looking for now in my life. After a medical crisis, I have slowed down and am taking the time. I have tried to draw often in a small sketchbook, but your idea of having the precious things that mean something special to you in a bowl and drawing them for your morning practice resonates with me in a deep way. I will begin building my bowl of treasures today. Thank you for sharing the depth of you and not just the surface lessons (although they are terrific). The depth is what matters to me now. Thanks.

Hi Karen. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about this. I’m so glad you will gather your treasures :) I had a medical crisis too... it tends to open our eyes. I’m grateful for that. Love to you, and again, thank you 💗

The sharing of your art journey was very beautiful. Thank you for making a personal journey available for all of us to reflect on with our own creative journey.

It was such a pleasure to view your exhibition! Truly beautiful. I am enjoying your videos, your thoughts and lessons, more than I can convey here in words! I've bounced around a lot in my life from one creative thing to another...drawing, calligraphy, quilt making, but now, watercolor has really captured my heart! (And to use such beautiful paints created by wildthorne...wow).

We are lucky for those Wildthorne jewels. ❤️ I am so glad we have connected, Margaret. I love so many things, too! But drawing and painting...there I can experience the world in a way that nothing else compares. Love to you! 💕

Yes, this makes complete sense. The skill of drawing came quickly for you. It’s like a person who can sing beautifully but not have the why. The reason for singing or drawing needs the why, that’s where the soul lives.

What a wonderful description. Yes! Exactly right.

You are so engaging; and I love how the drawing slows down as the depth of the words and their emotions increase.

I am fascinated by your story. It's so wonderful. I am so happy you have had these experiences. I think we can all have miracles like this if we open up to them. I don't have a clue what I want to paint. I have never had any 'visions' that I had to share. That's why I have always felt like I am NOT an artist. But, I am driven to paint, draw, etc. I have been doing your watercolor lessons over and over. Learning the how. The why? Because I must?

You have your why. You really do. Gosh, I often find the whole notion of “being creative” so weird. We are all creative, every day, just by living our lives. Drawing is about seeing and becoming aware of the world around us. Really seeing. it is an act of compassion if done well, I think. Put the thoughts of creativity and visions away...and just draw what you see. You see things differently than everyone else one earth. See...draw...see. ❤️

So much to say, but I will try and be brief. I feel I’m slowly beginning to grasp the fact that it’s ok not to perfect at drawing, I can allow myself the mistakes I make. I have found great encouragement in what you have shared today and I will share my work, although I’m still putting my box of favourites, which will be my go to drawing and painting things for my every day practice. I have very definite Ideas about why things happened so quickly for you so I would love to share. In my own experience, we may have gifts but the time is not always right for those gifts to be brought forward. But when it is time it may be quite rushed and we have little time to understand what’s going on. I feel that because you have worked so hard and show so much appreciation for What you’ve been given you’ve gone from strength to strength. Again, I’ve so enjoyed listening to your experience. Thank you.

What a wonderful comment. So thoughtful. Thank you :) I do believe that timing means something. I needed something at that time, for sure. I guess I’ve always been trying to see. My whole life I wanted to be a poet, and that was my intense focus for years. Hard to pay the bills with poetry, right? So maybe the universe was just letting me find a different way with poetry, one that I could share and spread around a little more... who knows. All I know is that I am so grateful. Whippet... just draw. Paint. Let things be clumsy when they are clumsy. It is ALL beautiful. Thank you ❤️

Kateri, There is a book I think you would find very interesting. It is "The New Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" by Betty Edwards. I found it fascinating and it will show you why you are finding it difficult to talk and draw at the same time.
