As a non ProTools user I watched this video. It is so well put together. Your instructions and descriptions are clear and well thought out. I have tried ProTools a couple of times over the years to no avail. Had I known about your series of videos it probably would have been a different result. I tried ProTools last year, but it kept crashing my M1 MacBook Pro. I am a Cubase 13 Pro user. Amazing job on the video. I will probably continue to watch, since I love to learn new things.

Hey Scott thanks for the vids they have helped me out alot.... Quick question. I have a focusrite 8i6 and protools intro. After i plug my guitar in and create a guitar track I have volume...but I notice when I turn the the slider all the way down on guitar track i can still hear my guitar. I am using headphones and no monitors. Any answer why this could be happening ????? Thanks so much

Hey there! I wonder if the focusrite has some sort of input monitor button? If so, it might be that the focusrite has that feature so you can hear your signal directly from the interface. The other possibility is you have a pre-fader send going to an aux somewhere?

Hi, how can I put delay on a reverb using sends? The outputs of the send channels shoe their output as Stereo Output. This means all sends are running in parallel. I hear mixers say “I put delay on the reverb” How is it possible if the sends are parallel? Thanks.

Never heard that before. Typically you put a reverb and a delay, one before the other on a track. Typically, the effects are both on their own aux.

So I just ran into an instance where someone sent a delay to a reverb. Makes sense since the delay was on a guitar track and the guitars were also going to the reverb, so having the delay heading over to the reverb seems logical. All sends are indeed parallel and inserts are in series.

Maybe by using the Avid Carbon D-Subs In and Out to hook up your Per-Amp of choice. So you will need to get your D-Sub Looms with XLR Connections. ALTERNATIVELY If your External Pre-Amp has ADAT Connectivity, then maybe you can hook it up via ADAT …… Ins & Outs. The ADAT Connections on The Avid Carbon might be a great way to expand your system. Check it out !!

Pro Tools is 32-Bit float, so your tracks won't clip even if you push them into the red. You will only clip if the MASTER is going into the red.
