    The thing what Colbor meens in the manual, because of not pointing down, is that you should not put it on the Table like you did in the Video. Because if you do this you block the Airflow. Its not about let it hanging pointing down. This light is sucking the air from the front trough the Heatsink.

    3:15 Hey I don't actually think that thing is an umbrella holder. It looks like it's a power-cable holder as per the manual. The hole seems to small for an umbrella rod? IDK why there are two holes tho

  • @fremontmike123

    I like the USB C, I can use low cost power banks instead of V mount batteries that you can only use for D tap gear. that's a selling point to me.

      Good point. Some usb devices aren’t quite powerful enough to run them though. Aside from that, I agree the usb compatibility is nice 🤘🏼

    I bought 4 of the CL60 bi color lights. They are amazing and everything breaks down so small. No umbrella mount on them though. Seems like an oversight. May have to drill a hole in each mount. Have three small SmallRig soft boxes for them that make it the perfect runs and gun setup for talking head videos.

    • @CliffKajun
      @CliffKajun  Год назад +1

      They are great considering their size. The light mounting arm on ours has an umbrella holder/clamp built in. You might double check your boxes, and if not you could reach out and request it. They might hook you up (and they might not😅 )

  • @jor_pat

    On the pointing down tip, it probably means facing down on a table or something, when the reflector is covered it will build up heat, it will certainly not kill it immediately but over time individual led chips will start failing.

    • @CliffKajun
      @CliffKajun  Год назад

      Yes, I think you are right. Since heat rises, it builds up around the chip itself. I've also noticed the fan blows some air outward towards the light, which would explain some of the issue with pointing down for extended periods of time.

    Bought one and love it. I use it for food photography. The power bank thing really confused me. I ended up buying a Dtap battery. I would LOVE to know what power bank works. Nice to have as a back up to the V mount battery.

    • @CliffKajun

      It really is a cool little light. I'm going to do some testing next week. I believe the voltage is higher (14-20v?) than a regular usb-c power supply or bank (5v), but I'm not sure.
      I'll be sure to reply if I find something useful out lol

      I think it has to do with the light requiring a minimum of 65w to work, so it only works with certain PD power banks. I used the regular CL60 with a Baseus Ambilight 65w 30.000mah power bank and it worked great, a cheaper combo than NPF or V mount and more practical since the power bank can be used all sorts of ways (for me at least since I haven't already invested in NPF or Vmount batteries and chargers). Mounting the power bank on the light itself through a cold shoe clamp is also doable! But on that note Colbor also sells adapters for said batteries for a good price, around 10-20 euros extra on aliexpress where I just ordered the CL60R!

    • @EdKrisiak
      @EdKrisiak Год назад

      @@aggelosx4518 Thanks for the reply. I have a cell phone mount with a clamp that should work great for this. About how long would this power the COB light. For a 1.5 hour food shoot, the MOMAN 99 is almost depleted of power.

  • @lesterhung7467

    can't do 5V, b/c you will then need 12Amps to reach 60W. Using 20V is the CORRECT decision.

    Hi! Love the review. You brought up an interesting point regarding the "NATO" rail system. That could allow the user to hang stuff off the light. Does anyone know if the light is compatible with the nato mount system?

    It's really great but would've loved it to have DC instead of USB-C. It would be tricky to power the 110W version with a 26v V-mount battery.

      @@CliffKajun I really hope so, it's the best option out there so far. Metal body and yet light weight and packing-friendly. I travel sometimes with my gear and having a like 1-3 of these 110w and 1-2 of the RGB's won't solve most situations. Might get a 300-600w just to compete with sunlight indoor.

    I booked one listening to rave reviews on the net. Now while waiting for it to arrive, I find that it will not power up with the regular power bank. That is not so good to know after booking. Can you suggest an inexpensive power bank suitable for the light ? The V mount, Sony npf battery options sound bit heavy on the pocket. Any pd power bank you can recommend that would work smoothly with the light ? Thanks.

    • @CliffKajun
      @CliffKajun  Год назад +1

      I'm sorry to hear that. I honestly do not know, but I believe it takes upwards of 15-20 volts to power (Don't quote me on this). If you find a solution I would love to hear. I'll do some testing when we return next week, and reply when I find out. Thanks, and good luck!

      I have been using the regular CL60 with a Baseus Ambilight 65w 30.000mah power bank with no problems. Remember that the light needs at least 65w of output in order to work, since it is in fact 65w. So any power bank claiming to output at least 65w through its usb c Power Delivery port, should work fine!

  • @rokah1391

    I have nanlite fz 60 B it same but its even smaller. From my experience with this CL60R (they said its Powerbank )
    I've bought one powerbanks recommended by a youtuber for CL60 (thinking its same) no =you need a more powerfull one.
    so i bought a "VEEKTOMX" 20000mAh, 65W (with a 100wcable inside).
    What i don't understand it's working sometimes up to 55% sometimes . I have planned to use it in a lot of travel shooting. but it's no reliable.
    PLus i have to say : their light tripod mount is really bad.
    There is no umbrella hole in the light mount and since it's "colbor" light shoe thing. you can't use a simple light stand adapter it's even a bit too big for my "S bracket flash " adapter".
    if you wanna us Sony FP batteries you have to buy 2 things (wich is 50 € +)
    The light would be perfect without all those little things that bugs us out.

    • @CliffKajun
      @CliffKajun  Год назад +1

      Nanlite makes some fantastic lights for sure.
      The power bank is frustrating on this one. It's one of our gripes in the "What if" segment. I believe it is actually outputting 20volts instead of the standard 5v from most usbc power supplies. They really should simplify the power options.
      I personally don't mind the mount for a small light, but that's just my experience so far. Ours also had an umbrella holder (although it is pretty weak).
      Definitely some solid points, and we have already reached out to recommend the USB power supply be changed on the next system. I'll mention the light stand bracket as well.
      Thanks for the feedback and comment 🤘🏼

      @@CliffKajun being able to power it with usb powerbank was genius idea , but they really need to advertise it well ( minimum power required).
      Powerbank save me space in a travel lighting kit. (if this one is my main"keylight) and i have 2 or 3 small tube/led to rim/back light it's perfect.
      and yeah umbrella (because it's the smaller modifier in terms of size/ratio)
      I think what it triggers me the most it's the lightstand "mount" .
      or at least they need more accessories to be "on buy" . wouldnt mind to buy a "colbor light stand umbrella holder".
