    Thanks for the video. We started going to Payne's Dock in the 80's when Cliff's father Frank was still alive. Nice man. Watching this video brought back so many memories. Cliff hasn't changed a bit. Thanks for posting. Norumbega.

      Us too, back in the 80s, poking through the fog trying to read the Loran. Frank was a nice man and so is Cliff. The crowds in Old Harbor are somewhat overwhelming now but it's still nice tied up at Payne's. We'll be going again in a few weeks.

      We got out of boating several years ago after a 20 year run. It was time to save some money. A week on BI today costs more than a cruise (and that's not including any mishaps). We did meet a lot of nice people. "The only thing that works on an old boat is the skipper".

    What a zoo! I am sure the dock hands do a great job or they would never have this may boaters causing the docking jam.

      I can see why you'd refer to it as a zoo but it really isn't. The people at the dock have been there for years and handle docking and leaving without ever scratching a boat. It is fun to watch, though.
