    Exactly what I was thinking over the course of this match. This guy was freakin impenetrable! Insane shots and shot selection coupled on top of ridiculous defense and stamina the whole time.

      Never seen anyone saying that. I only found people who said that's it's unfair that Federer plays at nightime all the time but others have to play in those hard conditions. Novak can stand the heat very well so I dont think it changed that much. He would have lost anyway, Chung played amazing tennis, and Novak served horribly and im not sure if he's fully recovered from the injury already. Also i would like to see how Federer would hold up if he played at Thursday daytime, I mean like that was the only day when it was really hot.

  • @breakaway2x
    @breakaway2x 7 лет назад +49

    First off everyone needs to calm down about Djokovic. He's not done lol. Yes, he's had injury issues lately which is why he doesn't look like the guy we know, but he's still relatively young with low mileage on him compared to Federer and Nadal (who is my favorite). I wouldn't count out Novak so easily. Next, Chung is elevating his game to new heights. He doesn't actually have any spectacular high-risk shots for winners, but what makes him so good is that he's so steady. He commits very low unforced errors and he'll basically return the ball to you until you make the mistake. I think he has a very solid game to be top 10 regularly but I don't see him being the next dominant champion or anything like that. He'll need to add more high risk shots to his game and hit stunning winners rather than just out baseline everyone he faces. Still, what a great run he's having.

      Your description of Chung could well be written for Novak. Baseline, machine-like players who can return anything and wait it out until you make a mistake.

    • @SimonJack94
      @SimonJack94 7 лет назад

      Djokovic doesnt have a shot like that either and he dominated. Chung has incredible potential if his body holds up

    • @sarahchang4863
      @sarahchang4863 7 лет назад

      He's 30 ~ that ain't really young in sports. Men start going downhill from 27

    • @breakaway2x
      @breakaway2x 7 лет назад

      Some actually get better after 27 (think about Stan Wawrinka). But I know what you mean in general. 30 is really not that old for tennis still. Federer is 37 this year and he's won about 7 slams from 28 yrs onwards. It's more about health and mileage. If his elbow problem is not as big as everyone thinks it is, he can still have a very dominant few more years and easily amass a handful more slams. If his elbow really is incurable, then it's a sad story because he'll probably have to retire young.

  • @user-bu4fc6ki9z
    @user-bu4fc6ki9z 7 лет назад

    Djokovic is a shadow of his former self. He lost his accuracy in first serve even though speed is intact. The elbow problem meant his forehand lacked his usual zing and his baseline play was exposed. Further he was not moving properly. I think 6 months off and still injury didn't heal, now it is prudent to explore surgery. I don't know why did he rush if he was not 100% fit. He may have aggravated it. Anyway Chung was beautiful. I agree with zevrev when he said he was relentless like Nadal. An exiting prospect is on the stage.
