(Prophet Muhammad SAW) Gone are the days when woman was considered inferior to man. She had to shower affections upon others. As a girl, she had always to endure the preference given to her brother. As a wife, she was considered to be the slave to her husband. As a mother, she had to make sacrifices for the sake of her children. "Man endures pain an undeserved punishment; woman accepts it as a natural heritage." New times brought new changes. In the present woman is no longer the slave of man. Man and woman are the two wheels of the same carriage. The carriage cannot work properly if one of the wheels is defective. Both have equal importance according to Islam. "And we have created you in pairs." (The Holy Quran) God has assigned different roles to a woman in life. She has to play different roles like a mother, a sister, a wife and a daughter. She enjoys a very high status in an Islamic society. The problem is that we did not give them equal rights. The position of woman in our society is not satisfactory. Most of our women living in villages are uneducated and uncultured. They don't have many of the rights, which men enjoy in village society. Very few women enjoy independent positions as owners of land or property. Women in the villages can't often marry as they like. "Woman's place in society marks the level of civilization." The women in the cities are in a somewhat better condition. Some of them can get education and marry on their choice. But women in poor families live like village women. Most of them work in houses to serve their husbands and take care of their children. "Women are the real architects of society." The basic unit of society is a woman. As woman makes a family, family makes a home and home makes a society. So, we should never think that a society would come into existence without woman. We all know that without education, no development is possible. Almost all the women should be educated to different levels. "You educate a man; you educate a man. You educate a woman; you educate a generation." Therefore, education up to intermediate is quite necessary. The best judge of whether or not a country is going to develop is how it treats its women. If it's educating its girls and women have equal rights as men then that country is going to move forward. But if women are not educated, then they are going to fall behind. "Give me good mothers and I will give you a good nation." This statement is quite true because only an educated mother can look after her children in well manner and they can take part as good person in society and can work for the development of their country. Therefore, we should give opportunity to the women to come forward. After getting education, the need for a woman is that, what professions should select a woman. According to my observation, the teaching profession is the most suitable for the women. At the schools, colleges and universities levels female teachers can teach as effectively as men. Teachers have a lot of advantages. "Women are as vital as human and men." Secondly, the nurses, air line hostess professions and the like are more favourite professions for women. Here womanly attention; care and service are needed which men can't provide so well. Thirdly, with the expansion of commerce, there is a growing demand for saleswomen, office lady clerks and managers. Fourthly, women are very suitable performing work in garment, handicrafts and toy factories. They can stitch clothes very well and can work with interest in the fields of their choice like those of cosmetics production and painting. Fifthly, the medical profession needs the service of more and more female doctors specially to take care of female patient. We should give chances to our educated women to work in different fields of life. And those women who are uneducated like village women should find it easy to work on village farms with men. "If women are expected to do the same work as men, we must teach the same thing." Women should take part in political and social life because women have equal rights as men. A woman can understand the rights of all women. An educated woman can has ability to deal all problems. An educated and brave woman can lead a nation. Women are independent in our society and they can take their own decisions. Women should take part in co-curricular activities in which they are interested. Some people think that women should not take part in co-curricular activities because these activities are only for men. They said that in these activities women exceed their limits and they do not take care of their dress and other things. I appreciate the thoughts of those people but my idea is that women should take part in all activities because these activities are more important for good health but they should not exceed the limits. "Women are the ornaments of society." Men should take care of the women as husband, a father and a brother. "Treat women and the slaves kindly." (Holy Prophet SAW) We should not treat them badly. Some people think that women are a kind of slave and they treat them badly. They do not pay attention to their needs. They think that woman is an awful thing. "When a woman weeps, it's a man's shame." In my point of view, woman is a symbol of respect for the whole nation no matter what her role has been in the advancement of a nation. A woman as a mother is very important member of our society. "Verily, the paradise lies under the feet of your mother." (Holy Prophet SAW) Islam grants equal rights to men and women. This is an age of freedom. Islam has clearly defined the status of woman in society. However, Islam does not prevent woman from serving in various social institutions. Women in our society are allowed to work in every field of life, but they are not allowed to exceed the limits of Islamic rules. "A strong woman is a man's greatest weapon." Finally I will say, in order for a society to be a pure society, both man and women should think, dress and behave in ways that allow pure thoughts and actions to dominate the way of life and create a social climate conducive to the achievements of the real goal of life. "A wise woman can predict the future because she creates it."
