    Your breathe support and open throat technique saved my vocal career. I spent years damaging my voice after puberty forcing and trying to hit the notes I had pre-puberty. It had gotten so bad where I developed nodules and couldn’t finish a sentence without losing my voice and going hoarse. Once I started to REALLY understand how to correctly push from the diaphragm and use the bright “Ah” sound, everything started to click. ALWAYS USE THE DIAPHRAGM AND MAINTAIN THAT BRIGHT “PING” THAT KEN TALKS ABOUT. I can now sing songs that I wouldn’t dare touch years ago! Ken is really the best! I tried other coaches on RUclips and their advice/technique only made my condition worse. KTVA IS THE BEST!!!

      Tell it like it is, Mike! There is no substitute for the techniques I teach. I took lessons from vocal coaches all over the world, and so many of them gave me such different and conflicting information. It took me years to sort it out and understand what was factual and what wasn't. My videos and my course give you what you need to know to get the most out of your voice. I'm glad you found my videos and applied the methods to your voice! Rock on, Mike!

      @@kentamplin So grateful for you, Coach! 2 years ago I would lose my voice after speaking for one sentence and now I’m out here singing circles around people and winning singing contests! I’m KTVA forever!

      @@kentamplin Hello! My name is Timothy! I love the way you teach and your music and bands that you have been in the past!!!😆 I really admire of how you sing. With that, this video reminds me being a baritone at a community college Choir in my area!😄 I was in the concert choir at my community college from the fall of 2015 to about late 2020 or so. My older sister dragged me in when she was at this community college with me. Your video that you just posted from 6 days ago today, brought back so many memories of my choir class. I've also played and want and need to get back to playing my Trombone which have been playing since 5th grade in 2007! Anyway with everything said and seeing your videos, and especially this video, is I inspiring me to even more now to pick up my trombone again after 3 to 5 years of not playing. Because I wanted to find a new outlet besides playing at my community to went to. Anyway, Mr. Ken Tamplin, you are a wonderful child of God! With that, as far as your singing videos of you singing with a backing track, you should go back in time and sing a song from one of your past Christian Rock Band's you were in like "Magdalan"! Particularly from the second album from your Band Magdalan with the album "MAGDALLAN: End Of The Age". From that album, you should show off one of the tunes from that album that was, I think, if I read from Discogs.com right, on the track listing of this album, this song was from a Magdalan 8-track demo of the song "Danger In Your Eyes". That song would be A PERFECT SONG YOU SHOULD DO FOR THIS RUclips CHANNEL!!! ITS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS FROM YOUR BAND MAGDALAN WITH LANNY CORDOLA!!!
      IT WOULD BE SO COOL!! EVEN THOUGH IT WOULDN'T BE AS RECOGNIZABLE TO SOME PEOPLE, BUT IT STILL IS A GREAT CHRISTIAN ROCK SONG FROM THE 1990's!! I EVEN HEAR YOUR SONGS FROM YOUR OTHER SOLO PROJECTS AND BANDS YOU HAVE BEEN APART OF ON THE INTERNET RADIO CHANNEL "Classic Christian 24/7.com" AS WELL!!!
      With everything said, I am 26 years old and turning 27 in May 21st of this year. How I discovered you in particular was when Google still was under their music streaming service "Google Play Music" and discovered your band "Shout"! You've been in a lot of bands over the years and a lot of solo projects. I really appreciate and admire the way you sing and the way you teach other people to sing. But anyway, I particularly like older Christian artists and bands of the 1970's, 80's, and 90's that I discovered and that my dad told me about back in the day when I was only 15 years old! I thank God for you and I'm not idolizing you Ken what so ever, but really have a great deep appreciation for your vocal academy ministry and the bands and solo projects you have been in. Anyway, I hope God Rocks your world for the rest of your life for all eternity!!!🕊️🕊️🕊️☺️😄
      GOD BLESS AND ROCK ON FOR THE KING OF ROCK!!!🕊️🕊️🕊️ THANKS SO MUCH.🕊️
      "The Lord bless you and keep you;
      the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
      the Lord lift up his countenance[a] upon you and give you peace.
      “So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them.”'🕊️🕊️🕊️

I exercise, like Ken says, 5 days a week 1 hour per session. I’m really glad with his course. 50% of my progress I own to his teachings🙏🙏🙏 When I finish the course I will take some zoom-lessons with him.

    THE PROOF IS IN YOUR SUBSCRIBERS AND STUDENTS WHO PRACTICE YOUR SINGING TECHNIQUES . Here is honest assessment of your Free videos . After watching your videos for last few years and practicing them regularly this past year my voice has improved and vocal range. I noticed this and one my friends who is a professional musicians who sang with Santanas band noticed . She coached me some but also emphasized some of your techniques in singing . . I was damaging my vocal chords when I belted before because I was practicing them WRONG before I watched your videos. I learned much more from your free videos then ones I paid for because the person didn't bother to break how to do his singing techniques very much like you do. Thank you very much Ken. You are awesome teacher and generous to do this on youtube for free! I am 70 years young by the way !

    @3:49, you can definitely sing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". lol. Wow, you have incredible range. I lost my ability to sing in 2016 after a forceful intubation during surgery. After getting off the ventilator and then discharged, I went to a different ENT and found my left vocal cord was damaged. I have never regained my full range. I went to an ENT in 2023 and the left vocal cord now moves but I still haven't regained my range. If I join your channel, do you have anything that can help with this? I was actually wondering if the fact that I just had to quit singing got my voice out of shape bad enough to lose it? Any thoughts on the matter? Thank You.

    I will buy your course evening I'm into classical singing.
    My story: Once I was told that both my singing voice and my spoken English were terrible.
    Now I'm poliglot and I sing some classical arias.
    One day a pianist friend of mine told me I had a tenor voice and invited me to have an audition with the choir of a philarmonique orchestra. Still choir singing is so different compared with solo singing.
    Now I'm starting my path.
    I tried with with a local vocal coach then I found you Ken.
    I've been comparing courses and vocal courses for months.
    My decision is final. I will take your course How To Sing
    Better Than Anyone Else.
    My goal is to perform at the highest level and go wherever the singing may take me.
    For instance I sang tenor with the orchestra, but my vocal coach caged me in the baritone range provoking conflict with another coach at the same academy. The other coach was doing tenor pieces with me.
    The range increase in your RUclips videos made me take the Decision to go with you Ken.

But I now takes a medication that Will stop the inflamation and trying to heal my voice with support of your excellent videos.
    By the way Im a tenor but my vocal range is that of an baryton. To hit the notes pass the g is impossible. Before my voice cracked long time ago I could go much higher and without any effort...but I didnt sang with belly support, had no good singing technice what so ever.

    So as I’m taking vocal lessons I was told that I was a tenor to start off with but I found warmups to be very hard for me to sing. So the next lesson I was told I was a baritone, which kind of bummed me because I’ve always loved the tenor singers and wanted to be one myself. Is there anyway I can “become” a tenor or am I stuck a baritone?

    • @kentamplin
      @kentamplin  Год назад +1

      Why be bummed about that? Baritones have a rich, honeyed sound, and lend great warmth to a song. A baritone can train to expand their range to hit tenor notes. Much more difficult for a tenor to hit lower notes. You actually have a good thing going for you, if you learn your instrument. I'm a baritone and I sing this: ruclips.net/video/LZ15oIBZRew/видео.html

      There is no particular order to the RUclips videos. The RUclips videos are designed to be "snapshots" or brief tutorials. They are, in no way, designed to replace a comprehensive training course. I've created "How to Sing Better Than Anyone Else" for that purpose. Please join my vocal forum, and ask others their experience with the program, it's free. If you feel it's for you, take a closer look at my course. forum.kentamplinvocalacademy.com/

    Did you ever consider to do a vocal analysis of Sam Ryder. He’s got a really unique voice and I’m genuinely curious what you think about his voice!!

    following along with this video (and doing some practice away from it) has helped my voice. Thanks! Ken, I seem to have only two notes in my head voice: g and g# (3rd and 4th frets of the high e). How do I get more notes for my head voice? And, is this normal?

    I have a really high mixed voice especially for a male which makes it easy for me to belt out high notes but my head voice is really bad. Like I dont even know at times if Im singing in head voice and I feel like I have no control with it.

    I love your videos Ken! Would you please listen to Voiceplay’s acapella version of Nothing Else Matters by Metallica. It was arranged by LOW bass Geoff Castellucci who hits an E1 in this song. It was analyzed on The Charismatic Voice yesterday, but she interrupts the song too much! Then, can you explain the difference between just a really low note & a subharmonic.
    I haven’t gotten too far yet in your classes because I’m going through a terrible divorce from a sociopath who beat me and burned me. Please pray for me - our church has chosen to support him so I haven’t returned. But such is the nature of a sociopath.
    Anyway, great song, greatly performed. I love Voiceplay!

    Is there a way of determining what the right key a song is to sing in for a person? I mean, I can sing some songs that seem to really put some tension on my throat and I'm thinking they should be lower, even though I can sing them.
