    • @SkritterHQ

      One is simplified Chinese used in the PRC. The other is traditional Chinese which is used in Taiwan, HK and elsewhere.

      @@michimacho73 thats a trap bro. I mean, i have friends who went to china or taiwan to study, but after they came back, all they can say is zhe ge, na ge 😂
      So if we really want to learn, we should avoid that even though that is enough for survive, and really learn how to speak instead.😂

    It would be easier understand if you would give a literal translation of the characters. It seems like the purpose of most of the videos is to advertise rather than to teach.

    • @SkritterHQ
      @SkritterHQ  2 года назад

      Check out the app to learn the literal translations 😆. We use RUclips to promote the app so people can learn Chinese and Japanese and properly in a structured fashion.

    *I wonder if the Chinese government would consider changing the language to pinyin?* It would open the door to the rest of the world when it comes to learning Chinese. Might be the most popular language but that's only because of the number of *Chinese people. Go to Germany or Italy alone only speaking Mandarin. Now go there and only speak English. The experience will be totally different.* PINYIN Now. China has already switched to simplified characters. *PINYIN is the next step.*

      A nice thought, but the more you learn, the more you realise why characters/汉字 is the only way in the long term. Sìshí shì sìshí, shísì shì shísì。 四十是四十, 十四是十四。 Get the point?

      I think learning the characters actual forces the mind to create/recognize more complex patterns. It may be why China has usually been the technology leader, and looks like it will be again very soon.

      Actually, simplified Chinese is part of one Mao's projects : simplifying Chinese to using letters ONLY.
      He wanted to be "modern" like Occidental countries, that use letters and not symbols. The goal was to simplify Chinese in three steps. The first one was simplifying characters like they are today. The second one was to have one symbol for each sound. For instance, 免,麵,緬 would all have been 面, not considering tones at all.
      Finally, turn every character into their pinyin. So 面 would have been miàn. As a result, we would have had typical sentences like 我是中國人 turned into a pinyin sentence (wo3 shi4 zhong1 guo2 ren2)
      This is actually how Vietnamese is like now. It uses Latin letters with tones as a writing system.
      Luckily, the Chinese project was left away a long time ago. Chinese is no longer Chinese without characters. There is no more stupid thing than erasing every characters to write letters. The project stopped at step one. Even China is now regretting that partial reform but, of course, going back and settling traditional characters in China would be such a dishonor to Mao...

      Mao should be dishonored, he killed millions with his idiocy.

      @@goukux5908 Technology leader? By taking western ideas for the Chinese market? As for the characters you may be correct, but my point was more people would be interested in learning if they used a more traditional alphabet.
