Why Singapore had many brilliant geopolitics experts? Singaporeans strive to be independent from the British while Hong Kongers strive to be a colony of Britain again. It's the mindset! It is so obvious that even the Hong Kong administration wants to be a colony of Britain again! But Hong Kong forgets that It will be in deep shit if not for China using Hong Kong as the financial gateway for any investment into China. If China decides that Macau to be the financial gateway to China, Hong Kong will revert back into a fishing village again.

Actually, Singapore and specifically LKY never wanted to be independent. Hong Kong and China initially had a mutually beneficial relationship. I dare say China would have taken a lot longer to get to where and what it is now if Hong Kong never existed. Macau was never and is still not an international financial centre. So even if China wants to, it cannot turn Macau into an international financial centre.
I won't take Asia Society seriously if not for Kishore coming for the talk. This is an American organization promoting US's interest and not to study and understand Asia. Most of the talks were crap reiterating Western's views & ideology.
HK couldn't produce renowned political leaders but only great fortune/money seekers because under British colonial rule times, any excessive speech or action would be considered pro communist and once arrested and put to jail, could be tortured; so this would tame down the HK residents and be obedient under British rule!
Only when Hong Kong has a really strong compelling Vision then great leaders can be produced. And great Vision must come from the deepest of the soul and heart.
It is not necessary great leaders are produced from harsh & difficult environment, historically many great leaders from privileged background due to Compelling Vision for mankind. The dialogue between the two in this video speak more challenges and negativity, not an element on greater Vision.

I believe that it is in the heavens will for it to bring forward, raising up not only benevolent and good leaders, but also a whole lot of many others to be on this earth to be trained, guided and setting good examples to fight for those who had suffered tremendously and are still suffering and to free the oppressed, delivering them from their present unthinkable living conditions in their lives by offering them hope to live better lives. The majority common people of any country must believe and know they have a right to expect good leadership from whom they have voted to power to be their government. There shall be bigger opportunities to develop and advance with more countries joining hands to cooperate with all others to make the world a better place in construction to improve a country's economy. What is the point of destruction, going to war with another country in order to conquer, to dominate and to control it?? It is such a waste of precious resources to divert to preparing for war and making enemies. With raising up many good people in the world, I believe our divine Creator has a purpose in preparing for the end times as there is an end time!!
