The Fashionistas at my Wal-Marts are starting to be on Clearance. I once found one of the older Fashionistas for $1/$2. The $1 Clearance on the Fashionistas was my favorite part when I go on Doll Hunting.

Froggy, I'm with you! I love hunting for the dolls of my post-WW II childhood. We Baby Boomers were indulged more than our parents (who endured the Great Depression and years of war), but even the most loving parent drew the line at quantity and/or overkill. I desperately wanted a Chatty Cathy doll. My parents said, "No". I also wanted a Patty Playpal (and her brother, Peter, and her assorted younger sisters). "No!" I wanted a Barbie (entered the scene in 1959). "You're getting too old for dolls!" So, today, I have two Chatty Cathys, a Patty Playpal and two of her sisters. (Peter Playpal is harder to find and, if you DO find him, he's very expensive!) Two Saucy Walkers. A 14 inch Toni doll. A 30-inch Deluxe Reading--the one with the solid vinyl feet, not the kapok stuffed one). A knock-off Toni that's 22 inches tall. Several of Robert Tonne's wonderful creations. A dozen Journey Girls and a 14-inch Big Lots and Kmart Wellie Wishers knock-offs. A Baby Marie (knock-off of Baby Ginny). Some bisque porcelains (one is an artist's doll that I had made to look exactly like my daughter at age 4). Several reproduction Barbies, a US Navy Barbie, a couple dozen other Barbie's and the dolls that I did have in my childhood: Ginny and Jill. Most of the fun is attending doll shows (fewer now that before the Recession of 2008/9), thrift shops, antique malls, and yard sales.
The power went out at my local Walmart and then all of the checkouts needed to all reboot and it took and hour to get out of the Walmart and when I got home it was ten o’clock

I am so jealous of your Target! Ours is so tiny and never has anything. The Barbie section consists of half an aisle, and everything in it is a few years old. Even the bigger one at Kansas City doesn't have a huge selection like this one - and definitely not the amazing displays for Our Generation! I do like that Target took over the Pink Passport line with Toys R Us closing.

hey FROGGY! idk if you know this but, i have a DC superhero hero girl doll (Bumblebee) and she has rib cage articulation, it's so articulated that she can move on the rib cage part in a circle, and she has all the other articulation parts (except ankle) which means you can find DC dolls with pretty much FULL ARTICULATION including WONDER WOMEN

Hi Froggy ! Just received my Celia ( daughter of Dr facillier ) from AMAZON and she is AMAZING ! Best hair texture yet for a descendant ! She is part of the slim box line and as such doesn’t have articulation in her elbows or wrists, however she is the exact skin tone of Uma so a quick head swap and she is fully articulated ! Added bonus is Uma’s gloves are perfect for Celia , her box art shows her wearing some !! Soooo OFF WITH HER HEAD !
