My professor referenced your video as something we should all watch. No regrets coming and checking it out. I am at the very beginning of my graduate career. Hopefully all your tips and tricks will come in handy as the semester gets underway!
I am in my first month of PT school and poor time management definitely made my life harder. I am trying to make a list like you said and come up with a studying plan that works for me.
Prioritization is definitely a skill I need to improve on! My dissertation is my main concern right now, but I keep putting creating RUclips videos and other fun stuff first, just because the academic writing is so stressful. I’m trying a top three list every day to help improve my prioritization, by putting my academic writing on it at least once each day.
That happened to me too! I had to start doing research and writing first before I allowed myself to do anything else. That's the only way I was able to get it done!
Yessss. It took me until my fourth class to realize a lot of what you said that I was already doing. I take online classes at Capella.I really appreciate your video. I went from taking one class to now starting on three classes on Monday and I’m freaking out a bit I’m a little bit slower with papers…I am one of those people that can’t wait to the last minute or I’ll be completely stressed. so I do it in increments of time making it the most important and my discussion posts being second in priority. I will keep checking out your videos and keep you posted on my progress😘🙏🏻🙂
Hey, I am so glad I re-discovered your channel. I love your energy and practice tips for grad school. I also live by a daily routine, but I need to revisit updating the frequency of my meetings with my accountability partners. I am also impressed with your consistency during a pandemic. Thanks!
Thanks so much!! I'm happy that you rediscovered me too! And I love that you have an accountability partner! It's definitely how I'm able to be consistent!
Great tips Toyin! I didn't realize time management could be summed up in two pretty simple skills Prioritizing is so important, especially when we have so much to do in grad school!
I'm so happy this was helpful for you! This is just what I've noticed in my own life and talking with grad students. Perhaps there are other components but prioritization and accountability are definitely at the top of the list!
Thank you for this Ms. Toyin! Actually I started grad school last March and up until now I am still struggling how to manage my time well since I am also a full-time employee and I always end up procastinating things and an unhealthy mind set of not making it to next semester!! But now your video gave me ideas on how to do things properly. Thank you for this!!
Wow, I absolutely love your energy! The belief you have in people to succeed really shines through in your channel. :) I'm so excited to put these time management tips into action now. Wish you all the best!
Yay! That's so awesome!! I'm excited for this new journey for you! If you haven't seen it, I have a free masterclass on How to Know What to Expect in Your First Semester of Grad School: www.theacademicsociety.com/free
I love your videos and so glad to have discovered your channel. Been using your tips to prepare for grad school. I would love to get your thoughts on time management for people who might working full-time while doing a master's program or what you've heard from other folks who have done it. Not sure if you've already discussed this in another video and if you have already, so sorry - I need to peruse your channel more!
So glad you found me! I don't have experience working while in grad school but it gets talked about a lot in my Facebook group. The advice that most people give is that you should give yourself grace, take less hours, and getting work done on the weekend will be the norm.
Could you do a video about how to be productive on the weekend? My productivity during the week is pretty good. But my weekend productivity could use some work. I think it’s because I still want to do fun things on the weekend :/.
I'm also not productive on the weekend. I don't really plan to be though. I always choose one day to do nothing. That's usually a Saturday. And work for a couple hours on Sunday. If I need to get real work done on the weekend, I'll do co-working sessions with my accountability partner.
Omg your dentist deserves a raise. Your teeth are so white they look like they have their own light source 🤩 awesome tips. I found out my work optimization has very little to do with the time and more to do with food. I work a lot better if I've just eaten
