That scene was very well executed. The public coming out from Mickey, the eerie moment of silence, Terry losing his shit, the all out bar fight, Mickey taunting his father about being a bottom, and the sympathetic cop that turned out to be gay too. 😂
And the fact Terry was only out for four hours 😂

The fact that Mickey doesn't get arrested is so satisfying. He didn't do a thing wrong, just self defense after his dad charged him like a lunatic.
Self defense, (as the name implies) is a defense to a crime, not an immunity. You still get arrested in most cases and then released once the investigation is thru if they decide not to press charges.

Plus he didn’t have to give a whole speech, just mentioned his husband to show that he completely understands the situation
the fact that noel improved a majority of the cop car scene is golden to me. for such a kind and relaxed guy in real life his acting skills really shine for this character.
Yeah, even when I didn’t particularly care for Mickey as a character as written Fisher did a fine job playing him.

I'm sure that had something to do with it but honestly I think what Ian said actually resonated with him. Mickey's a tough guy so he has to pretend like he only did it because Ian forced him to but I think he wanted to and he knew it, and he wasn't going to let Ian get by just because he was being a coward and afraid of being who he is just like Ian told him. I think what Ian said it finally clicked in his head that that's exactly what he had been doing. He played off Coming Out as something Ian forced him into but the way he does it and his facial expressions I think Ian’s words hit him home and he realized he has wanted to do this for a long, long time and he himself was tired of hiding who he was and pretending to be someone he wasn’t. It just took a bit of a shove to force him to finally do it.
