I don't get it, if he is in prison, serving the sentence of a trial that has been deemed null and void, then why is he sill in prison as the sentence is also null and void, they should by right release him from the null sentence and do what's necessary in their eyes which is either to re arrest and re charge and re trial or just drop the issue based on time already served, this makes no logical sense and reaks of bias, if the trial is void, the sentence is void and they have no legal grounds to keep him in prison why is this even a debate or an appeal needed ?

This case going to drag out for a long time.The Privy council showed up the justice system recently in the last hearing with the juror issue. Therefore the justice system is going to put best step forward this time to make sure there are no errors.

I think because this case has been tainted, the judicial sytem have legally lost its legal grit and its capable to now depict and achieve public judgemental fairness in the handling of this case.
The case has been legally flawed and is considered tainted in the eyes of the majority of the citizens of JAMAICA, especially, those whom have very little faith in the legal system.
I cant see how the judicial system can get pass its prior weakness in the legal and ethical handling of the previous tainted trial and not to mention, the fact that, these guys have been jailed under such flawd and tainted process.
How can the legal system rewrite such wrong and try to retry a case after so many years of corpral punishment under a tainted legal trial? You are going to retry a case after which these guys were the ones who legally faught to prove unfairness and the deficiencies in the legal system and won that case after years of being incarcerated?
After so many years, for the legal system, in an attempt to retry a case in an attempt to rewrite its previously flawed deficient legal process is not only ineffective at this point, the process regarding this case has lost its credibility and will never be seen in the eyes of the public as just, fair, non political, non hostile and evidence fact base. Henced, if the legal system fail to drink its own spoiled curdled milk or deal with the albatross it has created (no fault of guys) as a result of its own incompetency.
Be sure to note that such a decision will have set its path for long term futuristic rejected judicial decisions among affected JAMAICANS who will attempt to seek justice moving forward.

So someone’s verdict was completely overturned by the highest court. Why is there any question of why they should be released?! They should have been freed upon the quashing of the verdict! There shouldn’t be any form of bail application as they are not charged with anything! They are not convicted of any crimes to hold them in prison. They can bend the law all they want, but the facts state that man should be free! I pray Kartel is freed at that appeal hearing and immediately leaves Jamaica! It’s clear that people in very high positions have an agenda to keep Kartel in prison at all costs! Even if they must bend/break the law! This includes judges as well!

A conviction and charge are not the same thing. The charges are still pending until the Court of Appeals decides what to do (drop the charges or move forward with another trial).
