    You have answered so many of my questions, I'm from an airbrush background and glad to see how you use the airbrush along side acrylics. What a wonderful painting keep up the great work

    I feel so fortunate to have found you. I've always felt disorganized in my pet paintings. I've started working the sections, as you do, and it has done wonders for my time and redoing things over and over. Still getting good results but now I feel the results are great! Thank you from the bottom of my brush!

    I'm going to join your Patreon because I'm now addicted to your vids! I took up pastels a year ago and love it, and more people are asking for me to do their pets, but the dust isn't so good for me. I've found your acrylic videos and they are amazing on these free vids so I'm going to take acrylics up again and can't wait to see the full ones!

    Zara, I browse Daler & Rowney brushes but cannot find the brush that you used in the video that has comb-like edge at the tip of the brush. What is the name of that brush? I wish to get one because it looks good painting animal hair. Thanks.

    Awesome painting of the cat Zara, totally enjoyed watching the video. What type of brush you used for blocking before adding the details? Thank you again.

    • @zaratomsart
      @zaratomsart  2 года назад +1

      Thank you so much =). I'll either use a filbert or a larger round for my base layers. I prefer smaller brushes for the base layers because I think we have more of e tendency to rush the base layer when using larger sizes. We have a tendency to then block in more of a solid colour and not follow the reference photo as closely.

    Hi Zara love your beautiful acrylic paintings could you tell me what Number your smallest brush is for fine hairs thankyou

    • @zaratomsart
      @zaratomsart  2 года назад

      Thank you =). It depends what type of detail I need to create. How fine the lines need to be vs how long they need to be. I'll use a Winsor & Newton short detailed brush or a short Daler & Rowney rigger/liner brush. Any of that shape will work. Its not always the brush that just makes the difference. It's also about the right consistency of paint vs water =). Trial and error initially.

    What brand was the rake brush ?

  • @joyellis3354
    @joyellis3354 2 года назад

    Hi Zara I forgot to ask you do you let your paints dry between layers

    • @zaratomsart
      @zaratomsart  2 года назад

      Not always, it depends on what effect I need to create. Wet on wet blending is a brilliant technique and I use that many many times on the body. Where as the face the layers were usually dry before I'd apply the next. Depends on the situation, fur texture etc =)

    Amazing pet portrait. I do enjoy watching it. love the details. A year ago, there was a reply of yours to a subscriber, @joyellis3354 : " It's also about the right consistency of paint vs water " I do not understand what it means. Can you give a bit more explanation? Thanks.
