i love both your takes on the love/drug similarities and nuances. i thought something really interesting also was during the time she was dissecting & really assessing the “perfect illusion” there’s a constant flashing of strobes - i thought that was an excellent depiction of not only her experience but particularly that the experience was under a constant microscope (the paparazzi & media). and you’ll notice as the song ended she rolled out of that “state” and into that vastness of the dessert w/out the strobes & flashes - which i think signals how she needed to be isolated from that world to truly take on her sobriety in a serious way. great reaction 💙💙
