Damn these things are all over youtube! I kinda love that the scorch line provides an outline that you wouldn't get by any other method... I could definitely put one of these to good use

Do you know if that kind of cutter would work fine with composite materials like Richlite for example?
It could cut Richlite easily. BUT. We are not supposed to due to the fumes emitted which could be harmful. We are supposed to stay away from cutting plastics and resins. Acrylics are okay.
Interesting video. Thanks for sharing. Please can you share a link to the PRS bird files. Also how many passes were you taking to cut through the fretboard and have you got an idea of what the laser kerf width is?
PRS bird file is free on my store. Link in description. I did 7 passes to certain. But I think it was done in 5. I have no idea what the laser kerf width is but it's tiny. I couldn't even get a scalpel blade in the cut.

Might have missed it but how many watts is the laser? I’ve been considering adding the 14watt laser for my onefinity cnc but want to be able to inlay hardwoods. Unsure how many watts would be adequate
Mine is 10watts. There are folks on RUclips cutting 3/4 inch hardwood maple on this 10watt Ortur. Inlaying pockets is easier than cutting. 10watts will do it but obviously 14watts could do much more.
Have any idea of the upper limits here, for this type of machine lets say? Like could it cut a rosewood board down the length? (aaand there it is in the video as I type this, nevermind!)
Surely there's fire risk with certain species more than others I'm assuming? The inlays came up intensely good, I really love the char scorch mark trim, it's a giveaway as to the process but there's no arguing it looks ultra clean.
Yes, it could cut a 7mm rosewood board down the length but I highly recommend using a platform, honeycomb or otherwise and an air assist pump. There are videos on RUclips that show this machine cutting 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch wood. Just have to do a handful of passes.
Is the gold colour the only thing that makes it “The Golden Edition” or or there more goodies? I have the Ortur Laser Master 3 that I haven’t opened yet. Am I going to want to upgrade?
No other goodies. It's just a tasty gold.
Can it cut abalone or mother of pearl?
That's my next test. Found some mother of pearl blanks on Etsy that might work.
