For all those who are offended by the devotee's approach to the Goddess which is shown in this short and are disliking this wonderful piece of art please read this:
This is called Veera bhava. It is a branch in Shakti worship. Where Devi is worshipped as the Divine Lover by the sadhaka. It is just another version of women worshipping Krishna/Shiva as Divine Lover. When women worship male dieties as lover it is known as Madhurya Bhava and when men do the same thing it is known as Veera Bhava.
It is known as Veera Bhava because it is only for courageous minds as Devi is more demanding to her devotee in this bhava than she is in her Motherly Bhava. For eg, if Devi comes in his meditation and ask him to prove his love and devotion by setting out to a mountaintop and stand there in a particular yogasana while a thunderstorm is happening , he should be ready to do it without any hesitation. Fear of his dear life should not stop him. (This system actively use the power of romance to overcome Sadhak's fears, insecurities and limitations.) Not only that sadhaka abstain from sexulaity and stay celibate throughout his life. There are countless stories in Shakta circle where Devi came to Sadhak in sookshma shareera and make love with him. (Please dont get offended by reading this. It is not just ordinary sex and is highly tantric and spiritual in nature) While Devi in her motherly bhava is more compassionate to her devotee and she will only slowly guide him to spirtual growth whereas Devi in Divine Lover bhava is interested in your quick progress. Mother is Compassionate while Lover is passionate. Thats the difference.
Just like a man who is willing to let go all his inhibitions and undergo tremendous torture, pain and challenges to unite with his ladylove, the sadhaka (devotee) should be willing to let go anything that is dear to him and undergo any circumstances for achieving union with Devi, thereby rising above his ego in the process.
People who worship Devi as mother might find this offending. But I would say there is no need to get offended as Hindu Culture offer infinte ways to worship the Infinite. They never stitched one shirt and insisted Tom, Dick and Harry should fit into that shirt.

പുരാതന ദേവി, സൗന്തര്യ സങ്കൽപ്പങ്ങളെ പരമാവധി പുനരാവിഷ്കരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. കാമവും പ്രണയവും കടന്ന് അപ്പുറത്തേക്കുള്ള യാത്രയും മനോഹരം, സ്ത്രീ സത്വത്തിൻ്റെ പൂജാരിയുടെ കൈവിരലിലേക്കുള്ള യാത്രക്കൊപ്പം മറ്റൊന്നുമില്ല സുന്തരമായി.👍👍👍
മിതമായ സംഭാഷണം അതിനുതകുന്ന പശ്ചാത്തല സംഗീതവും. ചായാഗ്രഹകൻ പ്രത്യേകം പ്രശംസ അർഹിക്കുന്നു, മികച്ച ലൈറ്റിങ്ങും എഡിറ്റിങ്ങും എല്ലാത്തിനുമുപരി ഒരു ക്ഷേത്രപൂജരിയും ദേവിചൈതന്യവുമായുള്ള ഇഴയടുപ്പത്തെ തൻറ്റെതായ വീക്ഷണകോണിലുടെ അത്യധികം ദൃശ്യചാരുതയോടെ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു തിരകഥാകൃത്തും സംവിധായകനും. അഭിനേതാക്കൾ രണ്ടുപേരും അമിതാഭിനയമില്ലാതെ അവരുടെ വേഷം മികച്ചതാക്കി. ഹിമ കഴിവുതെളിയിച്ച ഈ കലാകാരിയെപറ്റി ഞാനായിട്ട് കൂടുതലെന്തുപറയാൻ, പൂജാരിയായി വേഷമിട്ട യുവാവ് താൻ ശെരിക്കുമൊരു പൂജരിയാണെന്ന് പ്രേക്ഷന് തോന്നിപ്പിക്കും വിധം കയ്യടക്കത്തോടെ അവതരിപ്പിക്കാനായതിൽ അഭിനന്ദനം അർഹിക്കുന്നു. ഭരതൻറ്റെയും പദ്മരാജൻറ്റെയും ആഖ്യാനരീതിയാണ്‌ സംവിധായകൻ അവലംബിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത് എന്ന് കരുതാം കാരണം അവരുടെ ചിത്രങ്ങൾ കാണുമ്പോൾ ലഭിക്കാറുള്ള ആ ഒരു അനുഭൂതി ഈ കൊച്ചുചിത്രം പ്രേക്ഷകന് സമ്മാനിക്കുന്നു... ഒറ്റവാക്കിൽ പറഞ്ഞാൽ ''ക്ലാസ്സിക്‌''.

ഒരേ സമയം സ്ത്രീയെ അലങ്കരിക്കുന്ന പട്ടങ്ങൾ അവളുടെ ബന്ധനങ്ങളും ആകുന്നു. ദേവിയുടെ, ദൈവീകതയുടെ, പരിശുദ്ധിയുടെ ചട്ടക്കൂടുകളിൽ നിന്ന് അവൾ മോചിതയാകട്ടെ. എല്ലാ അപൂർണ്ണതകളുമുള്ള കേവലം മനുഷ്യ സ്ത്രീയായി ജീവിതം ആസ്വദിക്കാൻ അവളെ അനുവദിക്കൂ.

This is 15 minutes of poetry in motion. Kudos to the entire team. The beauty of each frame and suspense keeps the viewer engrossed every second. At any given point the viewer is engaging with the imagery on screen.
Imagination and impressions were being created and dismantled in my mind every moment.
At the start I wondered whether she was a victim. But her posture and expression exuded fearlessness. Sometimes she appeared as the epitome of empowerment. Now, was he the victim throughout? Towards the end, it becomes clear how in her passivity she is enjoying the servitude and devotion of the man.
One is forced to draw from historic frameworks such as the caste system, patriarchy and brahmanical exploitation while interpreting the movie at various points. Amazing climax. Captivating display of traditional Kerala visual, literary and musical aesthetics.
