6th March 1982 is the TX date for 'The Hanging', but this trail features a clip from the Series 1 episode 'The Capture'. Both episodes do feature Spiker catching Turpin in a trap, so the voiceover still works, but I wonder why they didn't use a clip from the actual episode?
Were the episodes networked? If so, it’s possible we got the TX date of the clip wrong. It’s more likely that we got it from the Space 1999 website but it’s just possible we used the Turpin trail voiceover to work out the date, and didn’t know the same thing happened in two episodes. We have quite a few Tiswas shows from that last series with continuity so should check.
The other Dick Turpin trail you posted was for the episode 'The Secret Folk', which was broadcast on 20th February 1982, so that looks like it was spot on. And this trailer certainly looks like it's from the same time - it's got the Watch It logo on the Tiswas card and the style of the trail for Turpin is exactly the same. 'The Capture' was first broadcast in 1979. My theory is that either they repeated 'The Capture' in 1982 or, for whatever reason, they didn't have access to a print of 'The Hanging' to make their trail, so they used a scene from an earlier episode where Turpin was trapped by Spiker, which is basically the same premise for 'The Hanging'. If you've got other Turpin trails, I'd love to seem them.
The opening to the Space 1999 in your clip is to the episode 'Missing Link', which I have listed as being broadcast on 13th March at 9.35am. This is perhaps why other posters here are saying the clip here from Dick Turpin doesn't match the episode that was broadcast on 6th March. The Space 1999 episode broadcast on 6th March was 'Earthbound'. Hope this helps. 🙂

Andrew Dexter - Andrew, it always amazed me, we lived in the ATV region who had the rights to all these shows but they never repeated in the Midlands!
