I think the thing I like the most is how ethnically diverse it is. I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for about 4 years and it was similar in that way. I appreciate having lots of different people from all over the world around. It makes life more interesting. And you have the opportunity to learn so much! I love it!😃
Flushing isn't the very far eastern part of Queens. It's slightly eastern but its fairly centrally located in northern Queens. Far Eastern Queens is where the Farm Museum, National Art League, and the Alley Pond Nature Center are located. Also Sunnyside doesn't have much Greek influence.
Springfield Gardens, Laurelton and Rosedale are the southernmost and easternmost sections of Queens. The Cross Island Parkway, Southern State Parkway and Sunrise Hwy. in Valley Stream are close by. We lived in the Rockaways.
Let's hear it for Queens NY! So much more to NYC than just Manhattan! And thanks for the narration/info. Too many walking tours just video and don't tell views where they are or what they're looking at. Great tour!
Thank you for coving the borough of Queens and it’s diversity. I’ve grew up in Jamaica, Queens. There you have King’s Park and the house of Rufus King, a signer of the Constitution. Corona has Louis Armstrong home. The best part is the food from all cultures. Great video.
i got to say that queens is very diverse my asian mom used to live there in a post soviet/asian community she worked at a place that serves national dishes from places it was a cafe.
Cracking video my good man. When I finally make it to from England NYC with the wife we will be staying in Queens. Just round the corner from the 21St-Queensbridge station
This guy is calling Woodside, Carona and Jackson Heights Eastern Queens. When it's actually North Western Queens. It's not until you enter areas like Flushing, Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Briarwood that you enter Eastern Queens. He didn't touch the Black part of Queens which is Southeast , Queens . That's where Kennedy International Airport is, Jamaica, Queens which includes sections like South Jamaica, Springfield Gardens, Rosedale, Laurelton, Cambria Heights, Hollis, South Ozone Park, Saint Albans and Southwest Queens which includes Richmond Hill, Ridgewood, Woodhaven ect. And then there's other areas like Maspeth, Rego Park, Middle Village, Glendale and so on. I hate these non New Yorkers doing NYC videos when they fuckin ain't from here! That shit get on my nerves!
Wil Mars thank you!!!! I live in Briarwood but my family is from Jamaica Queens. I’m so disappointed he didn’t mention that side of Queens. He ain’t even mention Citified when he talked about flushing
You can find alot of Korean and Greek restaurants in Bayside neighborhood..Fort Totten is one of the landmarks and if you are into fishing there are some fishing spots like Little Neck Bay, Alley Pond Creek, Crocheron Park
You do realize that Woodside and Jackson heights aren't that east of Queens it's like a 10 minute drive to Manhattan the far east of Queens is like Little Neck or Bayside, Bellerose manor, and Laurelton
May I also suggest Utopia Bagels in the Utopia/Bayside area. Always rated one of the best bagel places around, but they also have tons more, like cookies and pastries from New York bakeries you might have seen in the 1940s and 1950s.
An abandoned US army installation....I’m listening. Sounds cool. Love Queens, very diverse. I like Flushing Meadows is cool too. Unlike Bronx Zoo (which you might not be able to see everything due to crowds and how big it is), the Queens Zoo is relatively small and you can easily see all the animals there
If you enjoy Buddhist temples, there’s one upstate in Carmel (not too far, about an hour away) called the Chuang Yen Monastery right off the Hudson River. The area is very serene and they have the largest Buddha statue in the US as far as I’m aware. They also give free reading literature and as well as free vegetarian lunch at noon on the weekend (donations are highly encouraged for both).

Not only that but the 7 Train does not go to the far east of Queens. In terms of the subway the most east station is Jamaica-179st on the F train line, but u are rlly tryna go east LIRR is the way to go. Also Queens is safe only in certain areas. In general, North and central Queens are pretty avg with neighborhoods such as Jamaica Estates or Fresh Meadows with a bit higher than avg safety. There are high rates of violent crimes and robbery especially in the south Jamaica/St. Albans area near the projects.

There is also alot of Bangladeshi and Pakistani places in Jackson Heights. Many of the Indians moved to areas like Bellerose and Floral Park in Queens, or to Long Island or New Jersey. For the most part the Bangladeshis took over.
