Hi, how do I export data from Stata to Excel that has more observations than the limit of 1048576? When I try it the way you describe, I am receiving the error r(198) because my data set is too big for Excel. I've tried to export to CSV and don't receive an error, but the CSV is also limited to 1048576 observations. Is there a command to export only let's say 1.000.000 observations (e.g. 1:1000000) and with a second export I could export the rest (e.g. 1000001:1999999)?
Yes, you could drop half the observations, then export. Reload the dataset, drop the other half, then export. Use the command drop if _n < 1000000 (or whatever number you want). That being said, I don't use Excel for really big datasets. Personally, I would either keep it in Stata or use something like Perl or Python.
Hello! Good explanation,thanks. But I have the litle problem, when I try to export my data in xls, stata shows me that: too many or no observations specified. I thinks that is because I have panel data. What can I do? Thank you.
Hellow. Please dearests i have two self mind troubling about epidata software. One: Is it possible to edit the que file after you have started entering data? Let say in numbering V01000102, V07000102,..........V01000110. After entrring data later you discover you made mistake instead of V01...... you wrote V07.... And you have already entered a number of questionnaire even up to V060.... please anyone to help this issue. Second question is: is it possible to import excel files or spss file to epidata?
Clear explanation and easy to follow. Thanks so much
Good explanation, thanks a lot!
5:50 to export
@Drew Austin it's a scam don't do it they'll take your money
@Watson Cristiano I think it's a scam. Also interesting how both of your accounts are set up on the same date ;)
Thank you a lot!

I don't know what caused that, but whether it is panel data wouldn't change anything.
@@sebastianwaiecon Thanks for answering! I used another method to transform my data base.
