Roger B. Taney was a notorious racist who delivered the majority opinion in the Dredd Scott v. Standford case, which ruled that African-Americans, both free and enslaved, were not citizens of the United States, and that the federal government could not outlaw slavery, saying, and I quote, that black people were "beings of an inferior order, altogether unfit to associate with the white race...and so far inferior, that they had no rights which the white man was bound to respect". Roger Taney in no way shape or form deserves to have his name on such a fine vessel, and if you ask me, you disrespect both the ships and its veterans by referring it as such.

I was just working on her in March and April, as a guide when Covid hit, it was a short time, but I enjoyed working there.

I am doing this of my own free will and accord. I read some where a year or so ago, that a JD SHUSTER had passed away at age 84. For those who knew him, I believe his wife is still alive, and if you want to contact for condolences, etc., then you know what to do. RIP!
