I read about this in the local news when it happened. She waited by the backstage door, gave her cd to someone, got a phone call asking if she wanted to jam during soundcheck, did so, then Frampton asked her to join them for this song.
I'd seen Frampton in BC Place with Bowie in 86 but didn't know much about him.
This is all you need to know.
Frampton did this for an unknown chinese-canadian kid, all in the same day. Mega-cool.
Kelly is now rocking in china.
Says a lot that a musician of this caliber reaches out to encourage talent. What a gift.

When I first heard Peter Frampton on TV I bought his first album the next day from HMV in the UK.
No one else I knew was into him. They were all into the same one or two artists they had been into since school: Bowey, Led Zep, Deep Purple etc.
But I listened to everything from Slade, Hawkwind, Simon and Garfunkel and Jan Hammer to Guthrie, Seeger, Ledbelly and Springsteen, Gordon Lightfoot and even oddity discoveries such as Klaus Nomi.
I liked new, innovative and original music, and still do. So Peter impressed me greatly. He seemed to be very genuine, a bit glam, and obviously having loads of fun. Most of all, he wasn’t taking himself too seriously.
For that reason, even though some of their stuff is quite good, and even excellent, I never got into Sting, or Bono and the edge. Everything about their attitudes spelled: Wankers, and despite being a supporter of causes myself, they also came across as fake.
Peter was and always will be the very opposite of that. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful experience you had with him. I wish you every success Kelly.
