One more reason to use the rv park showers is places that only have water and electric hook ups and you're staying more than a weekend I don't want to fill up the tanks before it's time to go I bought my trailer used and have not been able to get my hw tank to work and really haven't camped other than state parks so just use their shower.
Agreed! Our vintage Airstream has a combined 12-gallon grey/black tank. Despite taking naval showers (get wet, turn off water, suds up, quick rinse), and doing our best to minimize water use, the tank fills in 2 days. It's simply easier to use the park facilities.
You were in our neck of the woods. We live just 15 miles from Bardstown Ky. I watched that RUclips on the EV truck was a little enlightening to say the least.
Hey, friends! Thanks for this very necessary topic. We had a camper destroyed in South Dakota several years ago in a hail storm/straight line winds for about 40 minutes sustained since then, we have sat out severe storms in the bath house several times (Thanks the Lord for secure bath houses.) I agree with Patrick Hastings, y'all are getting younger! Stay safe! Jane in SC ❤️🙏
I'm with Jen, I think it would be a hassle to have to deal with emptying out storage from the a wet bath and/or have to wipe that down all the time. On the class C and above units, if you're full timing and wanting to save some money, getting a shower (at a gym you're already a member of) or using a public restroom saves you the expense of emptying your tanks as frequently as you would if you always used your on board bathroom (unless you only do Full Hook Up camping at RV parks).
I'm watching this 6 days late, but I filled up today (6/19) at Costco DFW area for $3.63/gal. Everybody there must have seen their GasBuddy price drop email and darted over there lol!
Thanks, very interesting about the trucks , think I will stick with old school gas or Diesel . I often wonder what happens to people stuck on the freeway in a snow storm for hours and run out of battery power?
my experience with apps and weather broadcasters is that they are usually wrong. Often they say it is sunny right now and it is easy to know that it is actually a thunderstorm happening at the moment.
Mike, I have always enjoyed your podcast. Thanks for all you do. I noticed what appears to be a Tennessee Volunteer hat behind you. Are you a closet Vol? James
So, the EV driver said 38 mile range, charging stations every 40 miles, and 35 minutes to recharge. Using those numbers, and google approximate drive time from New York to San Diego (2757 miles and 41 hours drive time) it yields the following: 84 hours (3.5 days) with no overnight stops to sleep and at least 73 stops to recharge the batteries. That does not include reduced range for additional passengers and cargo. It also does not include extra drive time to find a charging station or time for a tow should batteries run out before the 40 miles between charging stations. Doesn't sound practical to me.

I ❤ my Westbend slow cooker!
I remember your 100th episode! I think you two are getting younger. Maybe it’s your positive attitude!

To the fellow looking for a place to list his property for camping rental…he might check our Hipcamp (similar to Airnb for campsites).
