I know this is 1 year old but I hope you see my comment. Thank you very much for this video. I had the same issue you had. I did what you said and it fixed this problem. My SWR hardly flickers now. I had to make sure the split band was within the ham bands and I also turned the split function off. Both had to be done in my case. I have a random wire 35.5 ft antenna with 9:1 unun and common mode choke on the feedline near the antenna and transceiver. My antenna runs along the wall in my room. I know it is very compromised but now I know my SWR is under control and I might have a chance to talk to someone with the SWR under control. I am handicapped with arthritis and have a heart issue, that's why I have it inside. Makes it a little easier than outside. Thank you very much again for this video. It helped me very much. I have had some strong signals come through on my indoor antenna, too.

Operating split outside of the usual range of RIT is common for many DX operations. Also, operating split outside of the ham bands is standard practice on the annual military/amateur crossband tests on Armed Forces Day. 73 DE W3XWT

Had the same issue with both vfo A and B on the same ham band. Resolved the issue by removing the double arrow.

You can also set your SWR threshold by double tapping the power button. I usually keep mine at about 2.8 so the SWR will not go past 2.8 even if you're doing dual frequency.

Good info. I am considering buying a G90 (second hand) so I must remember this !

That was helpful, indeed. I was outside in the cold checking connections, etc.

Interesting video and comments I've similar issue. I've verified I'm not on split removing the 2 arrows per video. I've checked with my antenna analyser SAA-2N SWR across the 80m band should be showing less than SWR 1.6. But if I initiate the scanner by long press of PWR btn, the results shown for my test of the 80m frequency shows a reading taken from between 03.210 (outside the band) to 03.810M with number 4.0(shown in red). I'll check later to see if I can limit the range of the scanner as it scans a frequency range? Frequency I'm on is 03.510M. When I long press TUNE (you need to long press it otherwise it doesn't tune the antenna) the antenna icon comes up. The SWR readout remains close to 1 and it doesn't fill up? But that scanner readout is concerning I'll look into how it works hopefully figuring out how to limit scanner so it operates only on frequency or close to it.... I do verify before applying the fix the SWR readout was filling with white now its not moving at all..I did double tap the pwr btn to limit SWR to 1.8 but not sure what this does except tell me to read the manual:-)

Thanks for the great video. I’m having a problem where I push the tuner button and it sounds like it’s always sounded however, regardless of which antenna I use the SWR is over 4:1. I have a second G 90 in tunes just fine. My transceiver was set up like yours with a double arrows so I shut them off it’s still no improvement. Still pondering what my next move will be. Thanks again and 73

Did you put both splits in the ham band? I had to make sure the b-split was in the same ham band as the a-split and turn the double arrows off. I don't know if the b-split has to be in the same band as the a-split or if it just has to be in a ham band. In my case, it was the same band. I hope this helps.

I wondered why I couldn't make a ontact on 40m. Turns out I was OPERATING SPLIT.
Its almost as bad as calling cq for a 1/2 hrs only to find out I was connected to a dummy load.😂
