Y’all always report things from one perspective. Kudos to Jalen Brunson he made a good personal career and a good team decision.
Yeah this decision kinda makes sense for both parties. Because JB now gets insurance against an injury in the next 12 months. And now he gets to sign his next deal in 28 after 10 years of service. Meaning he’ll make way more in 2028-30 than he would if he waited a year to sign the longer extension. Basically he’s just restructuring his pay for the rest of the decade to get more in the later years. But his total compensation for the rest of the decade is gonna be the same either way. This was just gives the Knicks cap flexibility for the next 3 years. At the end of the decade his contract will be worse for their cap flexibility than if he had waited a year to sign the longer extension. But it makes sense to do because the Knicks should be really good for next 3-4 years. After that it’s less certain.

OG doesn't come from the same pedigree as Brunson - he has more to lose if he doesn't negotiate accordingly and quite frankly - he probably needs the money more. OG is still a G!
It hurt to lose our toung core in RJ IQ Obi and Grimes, but we got OG and Bridges *who shouldve always been a knick*. This is the first legit "window" the knicks have had in decades. Lets GO KNICKS!

What is this crap about Brunson doing this for the Knicks to win a title??.. The Knicks can't win a championship.. They gotta go thru the Indiana Pacers and that championship for the Knicks just ain't ever gonna happen.. Simple as that... Even as far back as Reggie and Spike .. the Pacers have always owned the Knicks and that will never change.. Just like this past season in the Playoff.. Sure enough Pacers SMASHED the Knicks to win the series.. The Pacers really enjoy pounding the Knicks - especially in the playoffs..

For you dudes that say the the Knicks were up 2-0 with OG (agains the Pacers)?? After two games high Pacer pressure and Pacer physical play.. OG couldn't take it any more and went down. Same with Brunson.. first Brunson hurt has leg, and then hurt toes, and then colon.. and then hurt his hand.. Then Brunson crying on the end of the bench.. Again couldn't take Pacers power and physical play.. The Pacers punished the Knicks..

It really doesn't matter what Brunson and the Knicks try to do... The big problem is the Indiana Pacers.. The Knicks will always have to face the Pacers.. The Pacers will ALWAYS whip the Knicks - especially in the playoffs .. Just like last season when the Pacers smashed the Knicks in the Playoffs.. Nothing the Knicks can do..
