Love the upholstery fabric! If one of your maps shows Chicago, you could circle the city, make an arrow, etc to mark your destination. You might want a couple pockets so things don't slip out. Such a great idea for traveling, and making notes of your daily adventures. Have fun!
So happy for you getting to travel to the states. Bet you’re eager and excited!! Be safe and have a wonderful visit. Love your video. So inspiring as usual. Blessings from Betty in Ohio.
Lovely journal. Beware the humidity and mosquitoes. I love Chicago. The food, museums, entertainment. The Windy City has it all. Do have a wonderful time.
I am a scrapbooker who has never made a journal. I came upon your video and was absolutely amazed with your journals. I will make a journal to keep in the RV. Oh, the memories I will keep! Thank you so much. Wave from the plane for me I grew up in Naperville in California now.
My daughter lives in Chicago- enjoy the usually great summer weather! I think the geometric design reminds me of the amazing architecture of the city. Hope you have a safe and lovely reunion!
Not sure how many would admit to this but your idea about trimming the edges of the pages before sewing in “think about any pocket pages” was sooo smart. Thanks for the hint! 👏
Hi Ceri, is that grosgrain ribbon, maybe? Lovely journal for your journey! I know you have been longing to travel. Be safe and enjoy yourself among friends!
I LOVE the upholstery fabric you chose Ceri, it's so eye-catching, bright and happy. I also loved the other side to it as well that you sewed the Kraft-tex to!! 😊 I hope you have a lovely time away with your friends making some amazing new memories 💖 xoxo
Love the material you chose for the cover fabric. I need to check out that Kraft Tex material. I’m glad you are getting to travel again and hope you have a wonderful trip❤️
You just reminded me I bought some rolls of kraftex and squirreled it away. I love that stuff. Your upholstery fabric is fabulous. Very handsome journal. Hugs, treen 🤎🤎🤎🤎
That fabric you used is stunning! Another great journal. Happy to hear you are taking your trip! You must be excited to see your friends after such a long time. I'm happy for you. :)
This is a very nice travel journal and I really like the pattern of the fabric you used for the cover. Thanks, Ceri. I hope you enjoy you trip to Chicago and that you stay safe. Be aware of all that is going on around you.

Hi Ceri! I really liked the fabric for the cover of this journal. Very nice. And often, simple can be the best! I hope you enjoy Chicago. I've been there many times and lived about a couple of hours North of there when I was a teen. It's changed quite a bit over the years, but I'm sure the museums are still a wonderful delight if you have a chance to see them. There's also a great zoo. Have fun! Ill include you in my prayers for your safe journey. Sue ❤
Thank you Sue, I loved my trip especially catching up with my friends but I was there for the highland park shootings, I was at a parade a few miles away but it did make me a little apprehensive so I didn’t go out as much as I had planned but loved my visit all the same.
@@CeriGriffiths Oh, that is sad, Ceri. You come to America to visit and something like that happened. Yes, Chicago is not really good right now, as are many of the larger well known cities. Though I do have friends who live in Chicago now that seem to do okay. I think some districts are better than others. I used to go there for day trips when I was a teenager. Seemed relatively safe then, early to mid-seventies. However, my principal from the high school I used to teach at in Virginia had an adopted son who lived there. His son was newly married and had just finished college for a photography career. Three days before he was supposed to start his first job as a professional photographer, he went out to get some lunch at a local eatery (his wife was at work). He was standing at a bus stop just waiting when a 15 year old gang member took his life, the bullet meant for someone else as a gang hit. That was about 10 or 12 years ago, not sure. It was so tragic and still brings me to tears to just think about it. From what my principal has said about him and articles Ive read, he was a very kind and good man. So senseless, as was this Highland Park shooting. It's just crazy. I don't understand it at all. Anyway, I'm glad you got home safe. Hopefully, it will be the last time you experience something like that. Maybe the next trip can be to see Gayle A in Helena MT. I was there last summer and it was wonderful! It's a very beautiful area! To me, that's is a reflection of what the US is truly like overall. Anyway, thanks for sharing your story, Ceri. I always enjoy watching and listening; even your coffee chats, which I often seem to relate to. You are a genuine person and that's so refreshing to see. God bless. Sue ♥

Hi Ceri! Nice journal! Have a safe trip and have a great time with your friends in Chicago. I'm about 60 miles to the east over in northern Indiana (near Lake Michigan). I've been to Chicago many times. TFS!
Thanks Ceri for sharing the construction of your personal journal. Love the fabric print you chose. Have a safe trip. Will you please video a little of Chicago?
Sandi I’ll wave back, yes I’m excited but nervous about all of the travel to get there, its been over three years since I’ve flown and with the virus checks and everything my anxiety is going to go through the roofed, but I’ll do it.
I was surprised to see what is inside of a couch. I took one of mine apart a few years ago to save in dumping fees. I got usable wood as well as the fabric and strapping you mentioned. I also was able to recycle what I couldn’t use, dump fee zero.
Oh Ceri I love your journal. I love the fabric so much that I bought it 3 years ago when I was on vacation. Guess where, yeah in South Wales at a fabric stand. I made a tiny journal for my daughter.
Ah Ceri, This journal looks "joyful". I hope you have a splendid time when you come to Chicago. I hope you and your friends make so many wonderful memories that you have to add pages and pages to your journal. Thanks for sharing the "how-to". Please take care. Many Blessings to you and yours and a special "hello" to biscuit.
I love your cover and the whole book is gonna do the job nicely. You might want to do pockets or bellybands? But that's just a thought. Hope you have a good time over here. You might be tearing pages out for a fan. I'm sure it'll be hot!
Thank you Betty I’ve just added a few pockets and tucks but I’d like to use the elements I’m sticking to the pages to become the pockets and tucks when I come across them own my travels.
I used to work in the import section of UPS, we frequently had customs agents with dogs thru our work area. I think the coffee issue is some drug shippers used coffee beans to try too mask the drugs from the dogs. So they will alert if they sent coffee. However in our hub we had an X-ray machine so to avoid opening packages whenever possible.
Love this, This gave me inspiration to make on for a trip I am taking. You said you may be gluing things in there, will you make pockets, paper clips ? I am curious 🧐
I think in this one I’m just going to stick items directly to the pages unless something natural forms a pocket of flip, I just want to be free and not confined by any pockets, tags or journal cards unless they naturally occur.
