This happened outside of the town I live in. The horses are wild and live on the prairie. This is a stallion trying to protect his mares that you can see behind him. The alligators sun themselves on the bank during the day, but they have been known to take a foal if they get the opportunity, so it's not out of the ordinary to see aggression between the two species.

Whoever the vapid moonbat was who said, "Leave him alone.", should have
had her head kicked in after he was done with the gator.
That's his natural inclination, to protect the rest of the herd. His reaction to
the proximity of the gator makes it clear he's experienced prior, very
      unpleasant behaviors from them.
The gator may have been full and passive then, but *Hungry* *Horses* *don't* *eat* *Alligators,* *but* *Hungry* *Alligators* *DO* *eat* *Horses!*

Slow the speed down to 25% at 0:27, see how close the gator came to getting a hold of the horse's front leg. It was almost clamped in the gators jaws, but the horses powerful thrust forward prevented the gator from clamping down. I guess that's we use horsepower to describe the power of an engine :-)

This is what stallions do. Stallions are jerks. That is their nature. It’s large amounts of testosterone. I’ve had to handle thoroughbred stallions and they were all ass holes. You can train and condition them to not be ass holes but you have to start at an early age. Wild stallions are just going to be jerks. I bet that alligator never gets close to a horse again.

    • @estherdimaggio9156

The horse is most likely the leader of the herd, or dominant gelding/stallion, he moved there because he saw the alligator as a threat and watched it for a short time. The alligator was either very hungry or young and stupid.

Did the alligator even get hit the second time? If you play it in slomo it seems like he just got "knocked up" because he bit into the leg of the horse and didn't let go in time :P

Alrota Music Uh yes it did. After the second round, the shape of the gator's body significantly changed... Gators are able to get up on all fours. His upper body got crushed and could only get on his back legs

If it bit the leg of the horse the horse would have a broken leg. He nipped the horse a little though.
