- The Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System Delhi Meerut RRTS is a partially operational 82.15 km (51.05 mi)-long semi high-speed rail and regional transit corridor that will connect the National Capital Region (NCR) cities of Delhi, Ghaziabad and Meerut.[10][11] It is the first of the four rapid rail corridors planned under the first phase of the RapidX project managed by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). Designed to allow a maximum speed of 180 km/h (110 mph), the distance between Delhi and Meerut will be covered in less than 60 minutes. The project is being executed at a cost of ₹30,274 crore (US$3.6 billion). It will start from Jangpura as the starting station, run through Sarai Kale Khan, the terminal for the three planned corridors, both in Delhi, and end in Modipuram in Meerut. It will have 16 stations and two depots at Duhai and Modipuram.

Thats becz bjp lost lots of seats in UP and Maharashtra, the 2 biggest states in India. Choice of candidates was not good in both these states. I m from Odisha where Bjp won 20 out of 21seats. I am expecting lots of developement in my state.

I am very confused about India’s voting patterns. Do people of India want such infrastructure or not? Looks like only very few people want growth and development. Most want to live in agrarian society with low income.
Basically people especially the very poor folk think this development is nor directly usable by them or it's not benefitting them directly and they fail to see the indirect benefits
Kind of like how many think even metros are only for "elite people"
And also that these people go on caste lines if they don't get direct benefits
People have become too complacent in last ten years

@@amanrautx Mostly BJP I think. 80-90% of India’s modern infrastructure was built/is being built during BJP’s time. Even national highway projects like Golden Quadrilateral were started by BJP. Most rail network, bridges, tunnels, power transmission, ports, hospitals, universities were all built during BJP administration. And they have been in power for just 16-17 years compared to the Congress 60 years when they adopted policies that bankrupted India.

These voters are a bunch of ungreatful people. Their mindset has to change. To them, their caste & creed is the most important things. Sad people. To begin with, UP's literacy rate is one of the lowest. Education tends to remove superstition and preconceived notions. Better late than never.
