  • This is the third part of a series about Heatmap visual in Power BI.
In the first episode, we talked about how to create it using a matrix visual, and in the second one, I showed you one way to "upgrade" your report design.
Today, my friend from the Power BI community, Barnabas, will walk you through a further enhancement.
Namely how to create a dynamic color scale legend based on user selection. The legend respects both filtering on dimensional attributes and measure selectors as well. Throughout the video, we provide the evolution of approaches (multiple measures, SWITCH statement, Calculation Groups, Precedence property). Some rely on Power BI Desktop alone, while towards the end we are using Tabular Editor which helps to extend our capabilities beyond what we have out of the box. Following through you can also create your own implementation that will yield better code readability, easier maintenance, and so much more analytical power. Tune in!
We hope you enjoy this one!
    Have a good one,
    Roland & Barnabas
