Imagine thinking your predator movie will work best as a comedy. The characters had zero fear over what was happening.
Right they aint a bunch of gamers or D&D players. Invisible enemies should still be horrifying
It wasn't his fault he had a completely different movie a completely different script the studio made him literally reshoot the entire film on top of all the other bullshit that happened during the production of this movie Shane Black and Fred Dekker are not to blame. The pissant Fox executives who had no idea how this franchise even worked that made them change everything and reshoot the entire film bad elements from other popular movies at the time change the ending three times those are the Fuckers to blame.

I am a fan, yet I had to watch this movie, I even paid to see it so y'all can clown me now, the movie is like watching justice league the discount one, as always you make great points and really give the movie a better look and tone because of your always on point commentary, keep doing what you do, as always I look forward to your next show.

The secret ingredient to the first Predator was it was a high-testosterone 80s action film that suddenly switches into a slasher movie after the first act.
And a thriller where the seemingly unstoppable team starts to fall one by one to an unknown horror stalking them through the dense jungle, from where they have little to no hope of making it out alive. Brilliant movie and it is up there with ALIENS in my opinion 😊
Right the whole fear us supposed to come from the fact that these guys were demonstrated to be unstoppable killing machines and they *still* got their asses kicked.
And what's more they didn't use some cheap bullshit like making it bulletproof. No, it just straight up *outmatches* them.
It's kind of like "what chance would YOU have?!"
Then you have Concrete Jungle where the Predator is slaughtering gang members and cops in the middle of LA. You think how could a Predator operate in a bustling city with millions of people? Well he does it and it’s not just one Predator in the city but 10 of them with their ship hidden inside a drainage tunnel.
It was a twist.
@Vinnie Provolone that’s my point one Predator was doing all that work and staying hidden. He wasn’t genetically modified or bullet proof but used stealth and chaos to take out his targets. Unlike this movie where a regular can barely do anything and the super Predator is having trouble as well. I still think about that ridiculous scene when the Predator is being chased by a bus.

Fun fact: The idea of Predators hybridizing themselves with human dna was a cut plot point in the 2010 film. It was cut because it was dumb.
Hybridizing with human DNA to make better Prey would make sense. Create something that is adapted to our environment but has the bells and whistles of a Predator without the tech to go with it. Great hunt.

If I were charge of this series i would've just focused on the horror element.
Focus very little on action only when it's absolutely necessary. Not just for the excuse to show CGI

It’s actually a planet, not an island. And yeah, I can agree, and we know these Super Predators were Bad Bloods despite that they follow the Code of Honor.
That was the, last good one great plot compelling characters.

A fifth Predator movie is in Production, but might get cancelled as the original screenwriters, Jim and John Thomas, whom have sued Fox for Breach of Contract. If the Thomas Brothers win, the film would be cancelled, but if Fox wins, the film would be made.

What was the Breach? If it's Fox taking over the directing like this film... i think i will save time and not bother with whatever they plan to release. FOX has only released junk the past decade. I mean they have literately destroyed blockbuster franchises.

Idea to revive the 'Predator' series call it Yautja Prime: In this movie the Yautja do not speak they convey emotions through body language and actions the movie would be mainly about a group of young blood predators having to earn the rank of 'blooded' by hunting an adaptive species (an extraterrestrial race we haven't seen before) but before they head out for this hunt we (the audience) would see through their eyes the planetary society they have, there would be Easter eggs like in certain scenes we would see the 'blooded' predator that fought Dutch and the pack of 'bad bloods' that were in the 2010 movie 'Predators' on trial and exiled. We would then witness the start of their hunt with it being overseen by Elite Predators from different clans (You see this would be the first time that Yautja from different tribes integrate on a hunt, so we would see the different tactics each Young blood showcase during this hunt). I have other ideas to add but that would make this comment unnecessarily long.
That would be a great idea but the predators speak to one another with their own language. The director, producers and other who will make this film needs to figure that part out.

Sounds like the original plan for The Predator was taking some cues from Hunter's Planet, which has solid potential to be a movie in its own right.

It was trash. Mann role was not needed at all.

That and the "Predator sounds cooler" are the only parts of that movie I liked.

The reason the first two movies worked is because the heroes were fearless badasses who were scared to death of the predator. This failed because it was fox and they can’t make anything right

Nah we def will. Predator vs Alien will have a massive comeback soon. HOPEFULLY. the entire avp franchise is made up of great movies the only bad ones are predator 2018 and avp requiem the rest hold up extremely well. Maybe alien 3 could have been better but i enjoyed it.

The episode "Night Feeder" from Genndy Tartakovsky Primal was more of a love-letter to "Predator" than this entire movie.
It hurts so much to see the Terminator and Predator series dragged through the mud with these terrible modern movies.

Well, considering that the whole film is full of bad ideas, they probably didn't.
If autism is an advancement in evolution, I guess all those motherless monkeys that were used in those experiments to determine if love was important must be overlords on another planet.
(These monkeys had shown "autistic tendencies;" rocking back and forth, hiding themselves from light, not exploring an environment, being overly frightened by practically nothing, yeah, these totally sound like the traits of a super being.)

Just for the record, Predator 2 is a great film and should never be shunned. It's the sub-sequent sequels that are the REAL problems. There are some great ideas and costume designs...but the overall execution is another matter.

I would love to see humans and Yautja (Predators) to fight along side with each other to take down Modified Predators. Or a more horror version Predator film.👍🏼

I almost said out loud "wtf, really?" in the movie theater when I saw the mechanical predator costume at the end of the movie
A film where some Predators make formal but secret contact with humanity would have really pushed the narrative forward to be more like the comics. Having tensions within the Predator clans would be a great way for humanity to get sucked into the deep end of galactic politics.
I still think Predator 2 is severely underrated.
It's my first movie of the series.
Predator 2 is great! It revealed so much more about the Yautja. The ending with Glover meeting the entire clan of the predator he killed, who instead of killing him, honour him with a gift was a window into their culture that we had never seen before.

I have an idea to fix Predator franchise. Rather than rehashing the location like jungles or city, why not change the location to the Desert? It'll be both of a challenge for the humans to survive and the Predator to hunt.

The dad that that you mention that the orbital repealed it fully at the end, then that the ultimate predator was revealed in trailers. That sounds like it could work, revealing the ultimate predator but by bit could have worked, I think.
I was watching the predator at home with friends and as a person with tourettes, as soon he showed up I got up and walked out for the house until they texted me the movie was over

Excellent job highlighting this dumpster fire. As a Predator fan I think all we ever wanted was lore expansion. Know just a little bit more about them. No one has been brave enough to try. Closest we'll get is probably Predator 2. The original script sounds like we would've gotten that lore expansion but as always, the "executives".
