This happened to me the first time I touched this game. Hours passed, figuring how to pass the very first mission by learning proper English and basic arcade game driving skills. I remember I didn't know how to advance to the next level until I figured the "load profile" system out.
1:51 While the layout doesn't look anything like the series layout, love how they still attempted to detail the semi interior for these games. Plus at least the walls and ceiling are the same as in the series.
Since this game is based on an American creation, I must say, why this version never had a North American NTSC release, I don't even know! I'm definitely going to make a custom North American NTSC release front cover of it and include it in Part 4 of my slideshow video series of such custom artwork.
Honestly, I heard a lot about that series. Ironically, after playing both parts made by Davilex, I watched whole TV series from 80s (4th season's story made me sorry for Michael) and one from 2008 (not very disappointing, but I guess it was made only because of fans nostalgia as it was blant and completely different from original concept).
Did a good Job on the voices of Kit and Michael in this game. They are not bang on but we're never going to be and at least they sound similar to original.
Lol, "Michael" sounds like some dude doing a bad Brooklyn/Bronx accent and KITT sounds like they got one of their programmers to do a "learned" voice, they really sound nothing like the original actors. I guess it shouldn't be surprising as this game screams "low budget", bargain bin material.
@@yellowblanka6058 What's actually funny is that KITT's voice is almost the same as one heard in radio stations from London Racer 2. However it still seems reasonable as this game was made 20 years after the pilot episode. Yes, I'm also taking The Godfather and Scarface as proof... But also, yeah. Davilex made games with low budgets and in few months. However, it's still a decent title in my opinion, perfect as a "one-shot" played from time to time
@@KaterinUA5 Oh yeah, I've definitely played (though not for long) worse games in my ~30 years of gaming, but there were far far better driving games on the PS2, so unless you were a kid/desperate/rabid Knight Rider fan I can't see many people playing this long.
@@yellowblanka6058 Well, I had some fun from these games, mostly because there were hilarious, stupid or just simple. I'm also a fan of this series, because I like main characters and story in their episodes. Also KITT as a Trans-Am is a marvelous car
dude this was one of the worst game ever lol you don't even know how hard it is to control that freakin car on PC hahaha (but it looks way more easy on PS2)
No wasn't any easier on ps2, I mean I was very young, but always found this game extremely hard. Gave up with it, that's when my friends older brother let him borrow gta 3 and left it down mine for a week, I was hooked
As a kid, i was controlling this game a bit harder the first time, but with help of several time tryhards , i did this game way easier. Maybe i can speedrun this game sometime.
the knight rider games are quite unique and a bit strange to say the least, I think it's a pretty cool concept of making the TV series into a game, it was also a part of my childhood where I played the second one and the game is pretty hard, I never finished it but I remember having a hard time trying to pass the laser beam when going into Garthe's facility.
I never play this game before, but I know Davilex, and boy I was surprised! I love their Racer series, like London Racer, USA Racer, etc. I know some people said "Those series suck", but who said I like those series because they were good.
They made money by cutting costs to minimum and making cheap games. I remember even in 90s their games were simple, short and mostly made with fun in only few months. Such a shame that after PS3 premiere, they closed their company. They looked much more like indie game producers back then
Glad I missed this even though I was 17 or 18 at the time. I was enough of a KR fan to have wanted to play this. Glad I didn't. But also disappointed that I actually missed this haha
Don't even get me started on this game back in 2005 I bought this game off eBay and was so excited couldn't wait to play it yes I live in the u.s. California to be exact how the hell did I know that when I got the game and it would not load on my American PlayStation.. I was so pissed off I ordered it got it never was able to play it
one of those games where they put 70% of the money in buying the IP license, and then release something completely mediocre for the platform and generation.
I didn't know what to do in that game
Hahahaha man same! I used to play for months and progress someday out of mistake then months again
Jump over cars!!!👍👍👍
Me neither.

I remember playing this in 2004. Damn I loved this.
This game will make my childhood happy my first favourite car

I used to love playing this game and watching all the knight riders😂
A game with Michael & Kitt, & an empty world.
tbh, I really like the main theme song inspired menu theme. Played this when I was about 10 yo, it's a really good game!

@@aki_xd4334 Knight Rider ps2 to United States to make it work
I'm guessing because Knight Rider/David Hasselhoff were probably far more popular in parts of Europe than in the US.
*Nostalgia*
You know what. Speedy blackman said midnight club.
But it is cancelled
Midnight club still cancelled soz
Not only are you everywhere but you are also a man of culture
I just had the name and a memory of this game, so happy to rediscover it.
Nostalgia, i loved the game alot.
I've remembered playing this on PC
People say this thing sucks, but idk since i was a child, i'm still enjoying this game until now.
Isn't nostalgia a wonderful thing 😅

They should make one for the new generation consoles that would be 🔥🔥
So many memories playing this game

How an American voiced the German version instead of English lol?
@@LGLFanTeam12 David Hasselhoff is actually of English-German descent
Still love it 🥰

Good gameplay for the Knight Rider is about a mission to get the car too.
And i was just thinking about you. 😊👍👍👍👍
These are pretty good graphic not gunna lie.
I wish this game gets ported to PC or iOS 😁

By advancing the game until you unlock the "SPM" mode. Not actually 1000mph, tho.
And how is this better than the sequel?

Nikola pajcin
Why didn't they hire Taito and use the Chase HQ 2 engine instead of hiring Davilex? This looks really bad.
