Michael PA-NGI-LI-NAN..(all short vowel sounds per syllable, NGI is like the sound when you say the word thiNG but add short i sound. Just follow the suggestions already given by other commenters. I would suggest create a playlist for our Filipino talents..it will be one deep rabbit hole of fun and vocal dynamics.

Welcome to the Wish bus and more broadly the Philippines. I won't try to answer the question of why you haven't heard of this performance before, but the song has been around in the Philippines for probably a decade and, yes, it is great though this is by far my favorite version. If you continue exploring Filipino talent you may never come out of the rabbit hole; the talent pool is that deep. This is not a formal group, just some friends that Khel (Michael) often performs with (though the keyboardist has sadly passed). However, the Bu/da/khel collective, with Katrina Velarde on some songs, is a more formal group that has a bunch of must-hear performances on youtube. Each of its members has their own fire youtube channel as well. Then there is KZ Tandingan who is a world unto herself and if you ever start reacting to Morissette, there's a really good chance that, like me, southeast Asia will permanently have its musical hooks in you. Gotta check out the Boyz II Men cover by Khel, Bugoy, Daryl Ong and Kristina Velarde. Unbelievable fire. Great review. And his name is pronounced “PangaLeeNan.”

Another great Filipino singer is Gigi De Lana, chk out her THROUGH THE FIRE (Chaka Khan), OFFICIALLY MISSING YOU (Tamia), BETTER DAYS (Diane Reeves). There's tons of amazing Filipino singers out there. Yes u can check out the most views on Wish Bus, but a lot of the most viewed videos have been taken down bc of copyright (bc they got more views than the original artists). Some have been re-uploaded but they are not on the Wish Bus channel.

Please expand your musical experience. Michael is a very well known and accomplished artist in the Philippines. The group supporting him are accomplished musicians and artists in their own right. There are some incredible R&B singers in the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, and China! Check them out. NTW: Michael was the lead singer for the group South Border and this was one of their hit songs.

The song "Rainbow" is originally by the Filipino 90's band called South Border. This is a cover by Michael P and friends. The reason you haven't heard of this song or of these people is because this was local Philippine music. We call them OPM (original Pilipino music). Google South Border and u can probably find some of their songs on youtube as well.
