Exactly what Rita said at the end
Too much nice talk and nothing happening!
    I'm feeling so sad
Opportunity lost! But Gods love surrounds us!

Because you are only viewing this from a Canadian subtext, I would highly suggest you bring in voices from pastors who have served in both countries. There is a beauty in seeing a denomination undivided by country boundaries. The CRC has an opportunity to show how large the church is spanning nations and tongues. I find your perspective that expanding the CRC is the US side being a control freak extremely disappointing. I served in Hamilton with both pastors for six plus years before returning to the US - Has so much really changed since I left Canada in 2016? I'm concerned by the spirit of bitterness I detect. Discussing what's at stake for Canada I expected far more. My suspicion is this is much more about your objections to the HSR rather than being a uniquely Canadian church. John Veenstra was on the right track to centralize on uniquely Canadian matters - but not the intention to separate.

Abraham Kuyper in his 2nd Lectures on Calvinism provides several warnings why a national denomination unravels God's purpose for the church and seeking his glory.

Incredibly embarrassing that you guys think sexual morality changes when placed in a "different ministry context" called Canada.

25:00 Well there it is right there. Rita believes that the Bible isn’t clear on homosexual practice.
So all of this business about relationships and unity and charity are really not the point at all.
One side says (underscored by 2000 years of unanimous Christian teaching) that the Bible is completely clear.
The other side says no. And I suppose that it is purely coincidental that this new discovery about Biblical ambivalence on this topic coincides exactly with the shift in secular culture.

This sounds like a group who has issues with Synod standing by historical church confessions. They are hiding behind their "Canadian" identity. God Bless the courages Synod decision.

You are doing courageous work. I think a lot of Canadians are tired of the ‘MAGA CRC’ tendencies that are now so prominent in the US churches.
