I learned Maya in college and was convinced that 3D art was supposed to be hard and frustrating. Your Blender rigging course was my first real experience with Blender, and it made me realize that my frustrations with Maya had been holding me back. You're an amazing teacher, and I love your tutorials so much!

I am highly inspired by you..
I have a similar background. From graphic design to 3D. First learned Maya, Then Rhino. I followed the same tutorial doing that Audi R8 (took me 3 months to finish). I spent a lot of years learning Maya, did everything but failed to master the rigging system which is too complex compared to Blender. A lot of frustrations. I start learning Blender in 2019, then I totally switched to Blender after few months. I wasn't able to find a studio job because of too many talents in Los Angeles but I got a job working as a 3D artist in a furniture company. My main apps are Blender and Rhino. My journey of 3D started in 2008, much early but shamefully still not master anything so far, but I will keep going until I am getting better.
Pierrick, I guess you never play video games right? that wasted me too much time. otherwise I can be much better now
@@101yen 😆 in fact, I avoid video games at all because if I have one on my computer I don't work anymore.... So I would say I don't :)

Tu la voulais vraiment cette place chez CG cookie... J'étais triste pour toi dans la vidéo, mais au moins tu as réussi en solo, et ça c'est vachement mieux ;)
Merci pour cette vidéo. Que de chemin tu as parcouru pour avoir ce niveau de dingue... Je l'ai remarqué dans le cours Dragon Knight. Moi j'essaye de sculpter le perso et j'arrive à rien, tandis que toi tu nous sors ça avec aisance comme si les outils t'obéissaient directement, j'étais vert.
Mais il faut pratiquer, comme tu dis... Alors j'y retourne ;)
A plus, "Pitou" (de Pitou Design, lol).
Ouais j’etais assez deçu pour etre franc car c’etait une grosse motivation. Mais avec le recul je ne regrette pas et j’étais pas au niveau en plus.

Ce n'est pas toujours évident de s'ouvrir comme cela, merci de partager tes connaissances et ton parcours.
J'ai toujours été plus intéressé par l'animation 2D mais quand j'ai découvert ta chaine, j'ai vraiment eu envie de sauter le pas dans la 3D et j'ai acheté tes 2 cours ( WARRIOR et RIGGING).
Quand on ajoute de la passion dans tout ce que l'on fait et partage on devient inspirant.

Bonjour Pierrick, j'ai découvert ton travail avec ton dernier tuto, celui du Crimson Ronin, je te remercie pour ton travail, ça envoie du lourd en terme de skill, je ne l'ai pas encore terminé mais les sujets concernés par tes tutoriaux me paressent essentiels pour s'épanouir en tant que graphiste 3D (pour ma part je travaille depuis des années avec 3ds max, entre autres évidemment) !

Thanks for the video, mec, It's very inspiring. You're very talented, your work is very impressive. To be honest I feel a bit overwhelmed because I have no background in 3D design and I was never much into drawing when I was a kid. Actually I always sucked at drawing LOL if you animate crimson ronin in the toilet, his shit will probably look better than my characters.. but I like Blender, I like to be able to create a scene and animate a story. At the moment it's just a hobby, but I hope someday I'll make a living off it. I've been spending time and money with courses and tutorials (P2 courses included!) and I'm enjoying so much!
I am a Chinese blender user. The binding tutorial produced by master is so wonderful that I can't understand anything to quickly make animation. I will always follow the master's footsteps.

Following your work from 2014, since I was a student on CG Cookie. It is very encouraging to see the full path you’ve gone through. I went through a similar story - working, learning 3D & freelancing at the same time till a burnout. I can literally feel the „pain“ with you. But, it was worth it! The world would miss an amazing artist now, if you have gave up on the road. Keep the great work! Wish you all the best!

So encouraging - best motivation I could get those days. ... It was a really fun on CG Cookie back then :) Kent Trammell is the man I've learned the most from. A long way from there to now, where I can make my living with this craft. But, there is still so much more to discover. Now I'm even more eager to see where we will be in the next 7-8 years professionally. Best!

Toutes mes félicitations et c'est vraiment intérressant de voir que vous avez pu réaliser vos propres projets.

Do you think you will ever fully transition from Zbrush to Blender sculpting?
Hi, Thanks for your kind words. I'm planning to give blender a new shot with sculpting but, I don't think I will drop Zbrush ATM.
@@PierrickPicaut_P2DESIGN Zbrush does have a lot of maturity compared to Blender sculpting but Blender does get better with every release.
I've been using Blender since it's was first released and would fit on two floppies but I've never gotten serious with it, seeing your story definitely motivates me to work harder and get better.

My ultimate goal is to be able to rig and animate at your level. First I have to get over the fear of weight painting and animating.
Nothing to fear. Just start doing it. There will be failure but you’ll progress, and there will be satisfaction
