- In this video, Chelsea and I experience Nurnberg by strolling the streets and going to a Beer Festival. We pick up our good friend Henry from the train station, who later competes in a Chug-Off with a German from a Brewery that is located in Bamberg, Germany.
You guys are so positive and bring always a smile on my face! :)
Same here. I keep smiling the whole time!
Wer ist noch aus Franken bzw. Nürnberg ❤️
Nürnberg
Natürlich
servus, oberfranken hier. Der RUclipsr macht mir angst, er kommt immer näher! ;D
gebohren in nürnberg. zählt das? ;-)

I moved to Nuremberg few years ago. I'm totally surprised. You showed me so many nice places here I didn't know even existed. Thank you for that! Awesome video! And nice youtube channel btw.
interesting - my family name is Malcher
@@SuperBotanica Hi, family name twin! All those Malchers/Melchers/Malcherzyk .... have their backgrounds somewhere in southern Poland or the northern Czech republic. The name is related to the profession of a "miller" . Did you know that?
Camp mal Thanks. Didn‘t know that.
@@camperab-yes, I know it
What a beautiful city, I've seen vids of nurnberg b4 but not like this so full of color and chill atmosphere. I won't drink the Canadian beer here and now I'm missing German beer so much 😟Glad u all had fun!
Last year I was at the Nuremberg Beer Fest. It was just like in your video! That brings back the best memories. Great!
Bamberg is also a very nice city to visit and not too big so it is fine for a day trip^^
it is also close to nürnberg. something special about bamberg is that it has been basically untouched by WW2 so there is a lot of original architecture still intact
So do not miss Coburg only 50 km from Bamberg. Both untouched by bombs and beautiful. Greetings from Coburg
It's so nice seeing this city getting recognition ☺️
Greetings from Roth, 25km south of Nuremberg! ☀️
"never lost a chug-off" go to Studentenverbindung
I never saw 2 liters go that fast. Actually I never saw 2 liters go in one go at all :-)
@@beageler That was for somethinh girls, now there comes something for real men. 🍺
@@fxopl6041 ...I was talking about a fraternity. In the video they drank a 1 liter Maß, the 2 liters I was talking about were a glass boot like they are used in fraternities in Germany.
Im a member of a fraternity in Germany, i ment the video called "Monaco Raphi Biernomination". The guy drinks a hole Kanne (also used in fraternities) in one sip. Thats the fastest drinker I have ever seen
Exactly what i thought 😂
Thanks for all this positive vibes...
And a huge hug from a German to the US... 🤙🥰
Herrlich, Steckerlfisch, lecker lecker Bratwurst und dazu das gute fränkische Bier. Ich gönne es euch sehr, wäre gern dabei. Beste Grüße aus dem Norden!
Just found your RUclips Channel and I love it! I live in Graf too and you need to see the German-American Volksfest in August! It is awesome!
Thanks a lot! I´ve subscribed to your channel since the first two videos because I love your positive and "open" vibes. You love to explore your surroundings without prejudices and let us take part of your everyday life and experiences. You don´t "show off" like a lot of other american youtubers in germany do and you don´t bombard your viewers with silly superlatives like amazing, awesome, the best, biggest and other awkward buzzwords to gain lazy clicks. I like the way you represent yourself, your wife and friends as "normal people" and let us viewers be part of your everyday life and experiences. I also appreciate your skillful editing of the videos. Have fun, stay the way you are and all the best for you, your wife, family and friends! :)
Thank you for such a great compliment! It's good advice to stay true to yourself. Thank you for being on the channel and I look forward to seeing you here in the future.
So you where just a few steps away from me. I live behind the city wall. Right where the entrance to the festival was.
Thank you for sharing your video with us nice meeting Henry. I just love that you show us around so I get a little piece of home. Thank you :)
This brings back memories of when I tried to drink all the beer in Munich.
:).....
I tried to do that in Augsburg. It didn't end well, or so I'm told. I really don't remember, LOL
Willkommen in Deutschland 🇩🇪.
Ich bin durch Zufall auf Ihren Kanal gestoßen und finde es schön , wie Sie mir Landschaften zeigen , die ich selber nicht kenne.
Super und weiter so. 👍
You have to watch Rothenburg ob der Tauber or Dinkelsbühl if you like old bavarian Places😉
Do u understand why i do love my country without this us patriotism?. Its loving and calm. I do love germany and i do love u discovering my country. Have fun and feel welcome
Well, the us has patriotism, we have the AfD.

Hey, it really makes me feel good to see how much you guys love our beautiful city😋 if you're there between September and March, you should absolutely watch a hockey game of the local team (Ice Tigers Nuremberg) absolutely unique atmosphere at a hockey rink 😅
I really enjoy your videos! I travel a lot through germany, but you show me many things that i never seen bevor. It's great to have you here :)
Thanks Erik! Kind words.
Great video Andrew showing off this wonderful area, I look forward to having a beer with you and Chelsea sometime...!!
Damn this is so close to where i live i know all those Streets. AMAZING
That Cinema is actually the biggest Cinema complex in Germany, I belive also in Europe. And it's Family onwed, no chain involved. It's called cinecitta, you can look it up on Wikipedia. Amazing place to have around. Anyways glad you like our City! Greetings from Nürnberg
Always nice to see my hometown through the eyes of a visitor. I hope you come back end of July to the Bardentreffen.
The chug off was awesome. Go Henry!!!!!
Hey Andrew, your videos are awesome, qualitywise and sympathywise. I enjoy your positivity and the look at Germany from a foreign perspective! Keep it up you got a sub
I just discovered your channel and now I have watched every of your videos. Awesome stuff! I would love to see more.
You should probably also consider visiting some east german cities like Jena, Weimar, Leipzig etc. (Especially Weimar is beautiful). Also consider visiting Rothenburg ob der Tauber, which is a beautiful medieval city that's completely preserved and looks like it's from a fairytale, or Schwäbisch Hall, which has a mixture of medieval and baroque style buildings and is home to some incredibly nice art galleries.
We also got the GFL, "german football league", where some americans play (e.g. Nick Alfieri; Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns, he also has the channel "NALF"). It's of course not on the level of NFL or anything like that, but nevertheless it's incredibly fun and tickets for the games are fairly cheap.
Anyway, I hope you keep enjoying your time here as much as you did until now. I'll keep watching your Vlogs from now on!
Beautiful video, all three of you are very likeable, brought me to smile, thank you. ❤️
heheeheheeee, Awesome town. My wife and I and three other couples were in nuremberg about three weeks ago. Love this town.
Very nice Video! Thx for the kind words about Germany and their People :)
A really hilarious vlog...and your friend Henry has indeed a very good respectively big sip...although I know some guys who probably could beat him at a jug-off...it´s all about the technique..and those I know can open their voicebox while drinking and just let the beer run down the throat = that´s then just one sip...while Henry took round about 7 or 8 and a half sips (yes I tried to count them) to empty the jug..although he was truely fast by doing that no doubt...and he got honestly my respect.
Very beautiful content!
If you really want competition for Henry, try to find some german sororities. Some of the fastest chuggers if ever seen.
Nuremberg is a big and modern city with many young, open-hearted people who are naturally attracted by such a beer festival. Try the same in the Bavarian province. There you get a funny look at you and you're kidded if you don't come from the same region.
I don´t know if you're into that, but take a weekend and visit some cities in former east Germany, like Dresden, Leipzig or Zwickau and compare them to western german cities. Although the fall of the Iron Curtain was almost 30 years ago, the difference between East and West can still be seen. Outside the city centres, the two regions look very different. And people are different in my eyes, too.
Maybe you can get your own picture of it.
Heino
That was some good editing.
nice vid! i really like your content! Nürnberg my beautiful hometown!
Thanks for sharing your travels!
Nice Video! Love your vibes.
Cheers from Switzerland
Your editing skills are so top notch. I always watch the whole thing, instead of just rushing through the highlights !
Thank you! Nice to know some people appreciate the time put in :)
So much fun, Congrats Henry!!
Nice guys, great vid, greetings from schwabach, home of the Bürgerfest ;)
It always makes me want to cry😭 when I see Nürnberg. Before the second world war every city in Germany looked like this, with the beautiful old buildings and stuff. The war destroyed most of them in other cities. Like in my Hometown Siegen, there is basically nothing left of the old city and what they've built on top looks like crap.
I love this video. I’ve been to Germany 6 times - probably never get to Nuremberg but now I know what it’s like 😁
Man, your video editing skills are awesome
OMG Alcohol in public, there are even children around😱how dare you Germans🤣🤣
I want to give a shout out and THANKS TO ALL that are working at all the festivities & restaurants

Good job m8. Greetings from duesseldorf
what a cool dude, apriciate your attitude lovely man. cheers from cologne
The thing I admire the most about americans is their competitiveness. Well done Henry. Cheers, Prost and
Skål
The background music blended perfectly into the video! Again, great work 😊
Also did you know we don't really call it T-mobile here? We rather call it Telekom. They also offer home-phone/wifi in Germany and T-mobile is just the part of the Telekom that sells cellphone stuff only.
:) just in case you'll hear germans calling them Telekom 😊
Like i said a few Videos ago: People like you are one of the reasons why we visit USA every year.
Thank you! I'm glad to represent the US in a positive way.
@@filmsmith Yeah you do. You are Open to Others, friendly. Thats the way we know a lot of americans. And we are not only at the Hotspots for tourists. So we talked to people in very small towns, bigger cities and big cityies. You represent your country and all the kind people very good. Stay save, and if you ever want to visit the east of Germany, go to Dresden, its awesome.
Congreats to Henry, but their is a intermixture with the national preconceptions. Germans did truly drink a lot of beer, but we do it on social events, not to get totally drunk, so if you want to see the real chug down beer stuff, you must visit England. Until the 1980th Bars in Britain did have very restricted opening hours dictated by law. So the common Brit, walks into his Pup orders his beer and drink as quick as possible. We Germans have a word for it "Kampftrinken", but in reallity it is a British thing. But all of that are only stereotyps, as not every German car driver did go allways as fast as possible on the Autobahn, not every Brit will chug down his beer as quick as possible. However enjoy your life and (as allways) nice Video, thaks for sharing.
Very good observation. I am British but have lived in Spain for a decade. The 'problem' I have when I go home is EXACTLY what you said. The Brits, we drink as quick as possible as if time is running out, to get as drunk as possible. Much prefer the German method :) Prost!
You make a good friend! Make your way to Bamberg some day. I Always enjoy your adventures :)
nice video! i live about 5 walking minutes from there ;) for me the beerfest is getting too overcrowded, in the evening there are long lines of people waiting to get in (not even a beer).
pls make a video of the upcoming "bardentreffen": everwhere you walked around in the beginning there will be small bands, solo drummers, big stages, hundreds of musicians, everybody who thinks hes good can play whereever they want to. takes place end of july, peace kai
lucky! looks amazing!
My Hometown!!! For me the greatest city in the world.
Really sympathetic guys and channel :) If you ever come to Hamburg, i would lie to drink a beer with you :)
Congratz to Henry :D. Glückwunsch!
Cool videos. Sharing with FB Group „Americans living in/considering moving to Germany“

Another interesting entertaining video. Have fun with your friend in town
I live in Vilseck. Maybe I'll see you two in Graf later this year. Love the videos.
Say hi if you see me!
if you want to get beaten in drinkin, visit a the german version of a fraternity, should be plenty in Nürnberg.

Or go for a "Jungesellenverein". Basically "Bachelors Club". These clubs are like Stag Nights on Steroids, but also a really important part in organizing local festivities.
Of course we laugh a lot. Give us a beer and we're happy as can be 😁🍺👍
i live at sw wisconsin, theres this candy wrapper factory, this german engineers come once a year for about 1 month check on the machinery, thats from germany,,they goto this bar intown they drink new glarus beer on tap, they go through atleast 2 half barrels in one week, they realy know how to drink.
Excuse me sir, but where’s my Coors Light? Lol that T-Mobile store looked so out of place. That’s awesome you had a friend come in. Good beer chug! USA USA USA
Well~~~
In the old days I might have had a good chance beside Henry, but as a good friend of mine likes to say, “I’m not like that anymore.”
tolles video :-).
Hi, guys, go easy on the 'bier' and the 'bratwurst'. Over time, it can play havoc with your health. Germany is also a centre of organic food ('bio'). Check out the 'bioladen' or 'biomarkt' where the quality is high . . .
Damn bro your content is amazing
Thanks Jullian!
Dawn, I´m an american and live 5 minutes from the castle. Next time, take me with you
First rule of Beerfest, you don´t talk about Beerfest !! :o)
oh dear, shots... looks like Obstler. That stuff gets me terribly wasted :D I like it, but just one or two for digestion after a Schweinshaxn with Knödel und Kraut or meat with Schwammerlrahmsauce and Kässpatzle. Together with some beers it's deadly to me, the shortest way to a blackout :D
Now I'm hungry, damn you! ;-)
I live now 38 years in germany and how fooled by that .... Hey you are a turisted smile ... Hey hate you ... From the bottom of they heart's.... He would never says this in public .... ..
Oh Bamberg! I'm sure you heard a lot about "Bamberger Bock" from your new friend - but that's all the more reason to go there for the event that kick the Bockbier-season off :D Just make sure to def. not plan on doing any kind of driving that night (or the morning after).
Hi Anakiana, They didn't have the "smoked beer" if that is the same as the Bock that you're talking about. We will be going to Bamberg sometime in the future though, and we will definitely try it!
@@filmsmith Rauchbier is yet another kind of beer - and it seems people either love it or hate it. Personally, I love it - but almost everyone I know hates it. It is definitely worth a try though :D
The "Bockbier" is a Starkbier - meaning it's way, way stronger than regular beer. It's still a while until the "Starkbierzeit" Bamberg is famous for but once that time comes around there are many, many beer festivals in that area :) (there are different kinds of "Bockbier" / "Starkbier" and different seasons -three, as far as I know; winter, May and fall- but the one that's really big in Bamberg is the season in fall and it is kicked off in the beginning of october)
Who doesn t love beer 🍻
did yoe try "drei in a Weckla" you just get this way in Nürnberg
Love it how Americans always just say their state xD 6:56
In my opinion, California is more likable and excepted to the rest of the world than the United States as a whole. I'm proud of being from California and being brought up in a very diverse society.
The movie theater u showed is actually one of the best or the best in whole germany
Its sooo deep.
I makes sense that there is no easy way from the moat into the castle ;)
Haha! True 😄
My hometown!
Nürnberg is an awesome city 😎🤠 ... unfortunately I didn't find an apartment there so I live in the near of it 🙋♂️
Nice video keep going 👌👍
Auman wie ich solche Feste vermissen 🤤❤️
ahh the currywurst and pommes looked soo good lol
Its one of the best german fast foods :)
My lil bro can slam beers in under 2 seconds. But I can still out drink em with ease.
Top Henry,you became a german passport,good beerdrinker
Interesting video, may I ask has Henry ever been to Ireland? I would like to see how he gets on against with Irish drinkers .
He said he has been there but didn't drink there. You gotta admit, it would be hard for any human to drink much faster than that though.
@@filmsmith No doubt Henry is really fast and I think he would do well in Ireland. Thanks for your reply.
Don't get fooled by the business smile they have. ..
I'm so curious, how did you get your income for a year and a half? Savings? Sorry for the rude question. Greets from the Netherlands
Down for a chug off championship? Do live near Nürnberg. 15 km or sth like that.
your subscriptions are raising really fast!
Weren't u felt dizzy after the festival? I just need one beer, and I am already finished with the day. 😅
Henry's a "ringer" in the chug-off game...
Your Welcome
I was wondering, if you thought Germans were not so nice people, what attracted you to go to Germany at the first place.
But it is great, that you like it here. Welcome to Germany. Have a great time !
It's not that we didn't think Germans were nice. It is an untrue stereotype that Germans don't have a sense of humor and maybe not so welcoming, but it is in fact the exact opposite in our experience. Lovely people.
Nice video, nice moat, nice Germany!!!! And nice people too!!! Of course the Germans are nice people, what were you thinking?
I would like to take on the chugmaster, how do we set this up? Hahaha
Never judge people based on the media.
Have you tried Hans im Glück before ? Great Restaurant!
No, but maybe next time. Thanks!
I think it's a rip off with service worse than at McDonald's ;)
Dude, where are your German friends? Mit mehreren Leuten macht das Feiern viel mehr Spaß. :-D
I beat him for sure 😅😎Nice Video
Or turist smile what ever you would call it dude
as a german I am wondering what kind of german beer americans prefer. Pils, Alt, Weizen, Radler, Bock etc.
I know you cant speak for all americans, but did you find any favorit beer in germany so far?
My go to beer here is a Weizen. Chelsea likes Hells usually. I like them all except Radlers. Those are terrible in my opinion.
@@filmsmith try some other unfintered beer styles, such as "Kellerbier" or anything designated as "naturtrüb" (naturally unfiltered). There is an unfiltered Bitburger Kellerbier readily avialable in many german supermarkets, but look out for regional stuff, it tends to be great.
@@wayneschlegel3548 you're right! That is my favorite when I buy it at the store!
I prefere Radlers during the summer months and then a good weizen or pils during colder months.
Well done to the American for winning that
Yes, you are Americans. You eat your French Fries with Ketchup 🤣🤗👍🏼
Mönchshof. Kulmbach. They have a nice Bier Fest there. Check it out :)
