- This tutorial is all about making ribbon brushes in Clip Studio Paint! These are incredibly cool, useful brushes capable of bending to follow the curve as you draw, making them great for chains, strings of beads, fancy jagged brushes - or a vine brush, like the one I demonstrate in this video! I'll also show you how to fix some of the weird brushes in the program that don't quite work right.

The trick to fix the width was really neat. Thanks for sharing it! Loved the video.
A very clear, concise, and well-planned video. All tutorials should be like this. Thank you!
I'm glad you like my style of videos! Thank you as well. :)
Thank you so much for making this video!!!!! I have made a great hair brush and it works seamlessly. I wanted to cry!!
I'm glad I could be of help! :D
Your tutorials are really excellent! So useful thank you
Merci beaucoup. You're the best!
Great explanation. Thanks.
Damn those were some crisp leaves! This is really helpful, but I'm struggling how to change the colors of my brushes after the fact, most brushes let you do that, but the ones I've made just stay the first color I used.
For the brush color, you just need to make sure the layer's expression color is set to gray rather than color. I've got that covered in more detail in this video: ruclips.net/video/QuYK41n3mwo/видео.html (it should go to the correct timestamp automatically) Or if you're trying to do a brush that uses both the main and sub color, check this one out: ruclips.net/video/A5EoYgDdz3M/видео.html Hope that helps, but feel free to ask if anything is unclear!
@MsRedNebulaArt BLESS YOU. Thank you so much, I heard you mention grey in the video, & I was going to go back & see if I missed something, but this makes it SO much easier. I'm just making a simple chainmail brush right now.
@@dalailarose1596Happy to help!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! 🤧💖
You're very welcome!
Do you have a video that includes how to only paint inside a certain area without using the lock transparency setting? There are certain instances where that doesn't work well 😢
There are a whole bunch of different ways to do it. I only ever lock transparency once I'm sure I don't need to edit which parts are transparent again. I did a pair of videos on layer masking and quick masks, which I think might be what you're looking for? ( ruclips.net/video/WYuVjCePPfE/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/Ru4kwLvVPzw/видео.html ) Otherwise, let me know what it is you're trying to do exactly and I can maybe help further!
Is there a way to make a custom tip only display when a stroke turns at a specified angle? I’m making a top-down grass texture and don’t want my side view grass blades rotating when I tilt my brush 45 degrees etc. The side view grass needs to remain horizontal. If I can set the brush to apply a different tip at different angles, it could fix that. And could I also apply different tips for different pressures? If you know anything about this it would help, thanks!
To the best of my knowledge, there's no way at the moment to make a certain brush tip only appear in certain conditions. That would be a cool feature to suggest to CSP, though!
@@MsRedNebulaArt All good. This tutorial got me started though so thanks for uploading :)
can you make these brushes through the store because I have been having problems lately because it says it's a image material instead of a brush what should I do?
I've got a playlist that goes over the basics of making your own brushes, especially the first video, "Custom Brush Tips." ruclips.net/p/PLVwmntZT6jsuG_BoURwZLRjFWsqhh7rCS Hopefully that'll help with the troubles your having. I'll look into putting my vine brush in Clip Studio Assets too!
@@MsRedNebulaArt ok and thank you
