A real master of the dobro who plays a dobro like its supposed to be played. Just enough notes to tell the story. There is no need to make the tune into an explosion of notes like SOME players do. Just beautiful playing from a genuine star. Made even better with Mr. Traum playing rhythm.

I agree, that is the way a Dobro should be played , I'm going to listen again and again and again.

Hell, it was quite self-explanatory thank you I have heard that sound before and wondered if it was done with two separate slides ( a 2 piece ... So Thank you again !!!! it will add a little more clarity to my sound paintings.

A friend sent me a copy of Stacey's dobro book. I opened it and read a few pages, and then someone told me that Stacey had just passed away. On the same day I got his book. Talk about a Twilight Zone feeling. Did he have those slants down to a gnat's whisker or what? Left us way too soon.

When I was trying to learn in the early 80's, it was difficult until I got Stacey's book. Though I was trying to learn Bluegrass, I loved that he showed many different styles. Stacey sold me my dobro capo that I use with a nice handwritten note. In addition to Stacey, Dan Huckabee had bluegrass dobro tablature for Josh Graves's solos. It was fantastic in the early 80's.

This slide dexterity on two different frets is none human.

Damn he’s making that thing sound as good as Paul Brewster, and that’s damn near impossible.
