@benroger Abachi at 24 isnt playing in summer league because he is good. if a 24 year old is playing against 19 and 20 year olds and doesnt dominate, then the 24 year old is likely headed to shang hai.

There are more than just 19 and 20 year olds playing in summer league. Jeff Dowtin Jr (27 years old) is playing for the 76ers SL team. And there are many more players with NBA experience playing in summer league... go check the rosters out and see for yourself.

@@IceManLikeGervin it should be a hint if ya 24 plus playing in a summer league meant for 19 and 20 year olds and rookies, that its not a good sign your career is going in the right direction. its a message you are not good enough not to be playing in summer league. you didnt see scottie barnes in summer league his 2nd year cuz he was too good to be in summer league.

Summer league isn’t about that, for a lot of players they still have them doing things they’d be doing if with the real team. Don’t expect this guy to go off for 40. He’s gonna be spotting up and playing defense… Look at Walker Kessler for example. He’s at summer league to work on setting screens, get in shape and work on defensive IQ. These intangibles and shooting consistently are the kind of things you should be looking for instead.

5pts, 2rebs, less than 30% from 3. He's got a lot of work to do. Jeff Dowtin needs a contract and this is exposure. He doesn't look more than a 3rd point guard on a week team. Kessler effectively played only one year of NCAA and he is learning on the fly. Summer league guys need significant work on their game, whether young or older, and for most, their efforts are not enough. The older you are, the further away you may be from your goals if you are there.

i think, if we stay healthy, we are going to shock a lot of people next year. we saw last year what we can do when we were at full strength. plus i think gary took too many shots. when he was having an off night and bricking it really held us back. a lot of people are gonna expect us to be out of the play in but i think we can easily be a play in team.

Great to hear, but 2 caveats, 1) if our big man dont step up, incl new additions, then we will be severely exposed inside, just like last yr. 2) if our offence sputters, then it will put further pressure on our defensive minded guards and forwards. Right now, as it stands, imo, we are still glaringly weak in size and scoring. This raps front office needs to get their crap together and actually make some play now effective trades. Gary gonna walk for free is insane. Need to trade Brown, Boucher, maybe some draft capital, and get the best of whats left out there, ie Nick Claxton, or others. Smh at the lack of trade activity. Impotent, as usual.

Ha..... the vision 6'9" to 6'4" is almost exactly the comment I started to post. Lol
It is pretty crazy the way they fluctuate with the roster. All I want to see is some kind of consistency and balance established.
The 6'9" thing involved no real 5. Then they got Jak and had lots of fwds but no guard depth. Now they have wayyy too many guards and barely any size up front. Just craziness.
