- This is a Common yet Unusual repair to the Snapper RER Mowers. In this Video, I replace the Yoke and and Plastic Bearings that hold it in place. With an additional reinforcement to the Yoke in a High Wear and Tear areas of 1-5th Gears.
thanks for the vid ... was thinking of doing something like this to my new old snapper I just got
Np...We have to keep these Gems moving!
You truly need to grease tha hex axle shaft...and put the rubber boots back on to cover the axle shaft
Your bolt on the right side is loose as the Sleeve should be in the mount hole for the pivot. Only the Collar should be showing.
Yes, I’ve adjusted it since I made this video. It takes quiet a bit of fine tuning to get the tolerances correct
I was wondering how old your mower was.
12:32 "Design flaw" LOL , the ONLY flaw is your BENT IN rear case WHERE the yolk bracket is bolted, it's obvious that rear case is bent IN aka INTO the inside thus moving the drive line FROM it's designed position.
Looks like, if you weld the plate(s) on the bottom it will be out of the way and work better.
I tried that at first, but the angle of the (shift arm) If you will, would bind up as I tried to shift
You still got this hack??
I suspect your rear skirt / panel is also bowed in. you may need to reshape it.
Yea I’m looking to change out the Spreader Bar. I looked at a Vid on Jim’s fit it shop about that part cause alignment issues in the rear end
@@TheVoice010 BEWARE of his productions, he treats ALL pretty much the same but there are MANY changes, he has some misinformation in his differential rebuilds and some BAD info on the chain case rebuilds, in them he drives the needle bearings BACK into the case that LIMITS / HINDERS the grease from getting to the bearings
Friend you are going to SCREW that new yoke welding that to it, IF you do such do it to the used one, when you put all that heat to that thin material it will warp like a pretisel
You folks following Jim fix it channel BLINDLY will be messing up your mowers in some cases
9:20 You screwed that new yoke up, AND you really DIDN'T solve the problem, a new drive tire will STILL be shaved off
"Just put a new rubber tire on it" Is the MOST COMMON FALSE opinion usually given, I worked AT the factory 40+ years, worked with EVERY part & blueprint of that mower ! Other false or incomplete info is found on Jims clips, actual Snapper factory past employees have attempted to help him but he ignores them
Your rear case is SCREWED, because some idiot has been pulling stuff too heavy, the rear case where the yoke bracket is bolted is WARPED, thus EVERYTHING bolted to is has been MOVED, this is WHY your rubber drive tire has been shaved down, IF you are still working on it & need some actual PROFESSIONAL help let me know
